ninjette.org logo contest!
Alright sports fans, by popular request, we're going to have to have a logo contest! The logo we're talking about is at the top left of this screen (and the splash screen). Here's how it's going to work:
During the month of January, ninjette.org users should post up their logo submissions to this thread. Only put the final product in this thread, it's not for drafts or just to see what other people think. (use this discussion thread for those purposes). There will not be any discussion permitted in this thread; discussion-type posts (even complimentary ones!) will be moved to the other one. Users are allowed to submit as many final logo choices to this thread as they like, though. At the end of January, I will choose the top 10, and create a new thread with a poll for the entire membership to vote on. That poll will stay open all February. At the end of February, the winner will be formally announced, and the top 5 entries will all receive prizes. For the winner, in addition to eternal fame and glory for creating the winning logo, they will receive a $30 gift certificate to the ninjette.org store. In that store, will of course be a whole bunch of products available with that same new logo (as well as the rest of the top 5 entries). In addition, if they desire it, I will edit their postbit so it has a special notation as "logo dude" or "logo dame". Those who finish 2 through 5 will receive a $15 gift certificate to the ninjette.org store. For the votes to count, at least 1/4 of the ninjette.org membership (currently that would be 50 members) must vote on the poll. If for some reason the turnout is less than that, I will still choose the top 5 and award the same prizes, but I may use a bit more discretion of my own instead of the objective poll results. If there are ties, I'll break 'em, either subjectively or via coin-toss depending on my mood. Logo specifics: The sizing should be no more than roughly 100 pixels high, and 300 pixels wide. (The random pics in the logo are most often 113 pixels high) Those aren't hard and fast sizes, but anything much larger will need to be scaled down. Try and keep the white space around the logo as small as necessary. If you have a very large sized one as well as a smaller version of the same logo, keep the larger one in mind, as it will print better on the ninjette.org store items. If there is any background in the logo, the logo needs to be a PNG or a GIF; JPG's can't show transparency and will not work as well. If you have a JPG, don't fret, I can convert most of them to PNG's very easily. The background of the logo should be transparent at best, but if for some reason that's not possible the background should be the following color light green (html code: #DDE5D6) Finally, make it clear in your submission if this logo is designed to be used along with the current random smugmug picture that shows up as a part of the current logo, or if it is supposed to replace the entire header. If any of this is unclear, please PM me so I can add/change/fix as needed. Good luck all, and I look forward to your submissions!

Here's the ninjette.org original logo: (remember, hitting "refresh" on your browser will pull up a new random picture each time)

My submission looks ideal on a black background (IE: black hat, black T-shirt, etc.) but it was completed in many, many layers so the transparent/light bg version can def. be played around with to look better.
Scaled, with randompic Last futzed with by muffinman; January 12th, 2009 at 05:08 PM. Reason: added scaled versions, next to randompic |

Katana, we bleed green! I made it large to enhance quality, but down 200% it is 100 by 300 exactly.

Well these are a bit of a throwback design to the original Ninja 250. Simple...but a nice tribute I think. These are JPG, but I can convert to any size/shape/format/vector/etc.
