[motorcycle.com] - MV Agusta Announce Limited Edition Turismo Veloce RC Edition

MV Agusta today announced another addition to its RC (Reparto Corse) line, and it’s an unexpected one: the Turismo Veloce. That’s right, MV Agusta’s sport-tourer now gets the RC treatment, placing it firmly on the sport end of the sport-touring spectrum. To add to its exclusivity, only 250 models will be produced.

Underpinnings of the Turismo Veloce remain the same, anchored by its 800cc Triple. The RC edition is instantly recognizable with its racing livery that’s similar to the one seen on the F4 RC superbike. Other features include a carbon fiber mudguard accompanying the front fender, forged aluminum wheels, a different sprocket, revised passenger seat for greater comfort, and revised front engine mounts with more longitudinal chassis stiffness.

Internally, the three-cylinder engine has been tweaked to help smooth vibrations and keep down the noise (Euro 4 standards are to thank for that). Valve guides, harmonic damper and chain tensioner have all been redesigned for greater reliability and reduced noise. The transmission also sees revised gearing as well.

Alongside the mechanical updates comes*further refinement to the MVICS 2.0 (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) electronic platform, with EAS 2.0 (Electronic Assisted Shift Up & Down), as well as eight-level traction control (nine including off). MV says improvements were made to the engine control management, with the aim of providing a more fluid power delivery. This has resulted in*a revision*of the various engine maps (Flexible ‘Tourism’, Full-Power ‘Sport’ and ‘Rain’ limited to 80 hp). The hardware has also been revised, specifically the*Ride By Wire components, for maximum sensitivity, response and improved throttle control.

Suspension components are courtesy of Sachs semi-active fork and shock, functioning through the Skyhook algorithm that’s been further refined by MV to suit certain riding characteristics.

Standard equipment includes: the Garmin navigation system, dedicated twin 8 gallon capacity side panniers, center stand, adjustable windshield, heated grips and cruise control.
