Trying to trade for a bike....with guns.

So I found a bike on craigslist: http://elpaso.en.craigslist.org/mcy/2538449133.html

What do you guys think? It's already priced over KBB AND has salvaged title and damage. I am trying to talk him down now so where should my go price be in your opinions?

I am paying with guns. I have some extras laying around that I don't mind sacraficing for another bike (not replacing DarC).

I'm trading a S&W based M4, ATI 1911, Bersa .380, and a custom savage actioned .270.

I just told him he was too high, waiting on a response.....

I want this thing bad...I have plans.

I would take the AR out of the picture and replace it with something less valuable. Never trade a fighting rifle for a disposable product (a bike in this case).

Also, not that I need to remind you, but since you're in El Paso, make sure you verify the buyer's state ID and ask for a CCW. Fill out a bill of sale that has the buyer certify that he "is not legally prohibited from owning, possessing, and transporting firearms." You dont want Eric Holder coming to your door in a few weeks.

Otherwise, I think its a great idea to shed unwanted guns for a bike.

By the way, I would say a salvaged 07 650R is worth about $2000.

That's what I was thinking. Thaks for reiterating the BG check (in case anyone else decided to do this). I actually have a friend who is a "stay at home" FFL and he has paperwork drawn up for me that should cover my tail. Either way when face time comes if I don't feel comfortable it won't happen.

Looking at the photos of that bike on Craigslist, I would keep your guns and pass on the bike. It looks pretty beat up. I'm sure you could find one in better condition than that one for a better price.

Guns and ammo are almost as good an investment as gold right now. I can understand you wanting to trade but just make sure you NEVER get rid of WSHTF firearms.

yea, Id def pass on that. In TN a salavage title means stay away unless you're gonna stunt or track it. Also when the zombie apocalypse comes you'll need them guns! Nah jk but if you're wanting to trade guns for bikes, I'd keep looking.

I passed on the bike. He was a whinny twit anyways. I was more or less just seeing how much he would bite on a deal like that. More of a warm up I guess.

I did find a guy willing to trade his low mileage, clean title, Hyosung 650R for just two guns I want a project for a street fighter so I think it will suffice. Plus I won't be out any cash if it turns out to be a Korean turd.

Believe me, these are the guns I am willing to part with. My SHTF weapons are clean, zero'd, and loaded for bear. (also give me an excuse to buy a couple more this winter)
