opinions/suggestions?

hey everyone, in a previous post i announced that i finally got my hands a on a black 08. trying to come up with some ideas to personalize it and make it stand out more. i've put together a lot of different paint/vinyl schemes, but black is always the accent color and i'm not willing to incur the expense associated with painting. here's what i've come up with to match my gear. what do you guys think?

I would check out some carbon fiber from these guys. I just got a $30 sheet and wrapped my side panels and it was pretty easy and I will def get some more.

Check it out!

Vince,
I like that pic you had a few days ago. It had the black tank with white fairings & gold wheels. It looked really sharp.

I like the paint scheme you've got, but if you're going for re-colored rims, I'd lean towards white (a bit more tedious to keep clean than gold, but not much) and perhaps a white ceramic coat on the can.

yeah, i like that scheme too. at this point i'm not looking to drop the coin to have anything sprayed, and doing a full vinyl wrap would be tedious as hell. trying to work with what i have given my options. (wish i coulda got one in blue or red, but i got a great deal on blackie)

The first pic looks pretty nice! The second with mostly white, something makes it look a bit odd

I like plain black with gold wheels. Kinda like the R6. It looks awesome.

Or like the Triumph.

definitely a sharp looking bike, i think the R6 is the best bike out there from a visual standpoint. maybe it's me, but i think the body lines on our Ninjas just beg to be broken up with some contrasting color.

I see that you have alot of impact protection, but normal jeans ain't going to slide good. Look for denim riding pants, they offer much more abrasion resistance compared to normal jeans.

I say go one better and skip denim. Go for cotton ripstop, the material of summer weight BDUs. This stuff comes through a skid with barely scratch.

How does that Carbon Fiber stuff compare to regular Contact Paper? Whenever I see the adds for wraps, it just nags at the back of my head that it really REALLY sounds like very expensive contact paper.

Can one of you that have worked both with the vinyl wrapping material and contact paper brand vinyl compare them? I did my tank in fake leather contact the other day just to play with it, and it's not too bad for $5. But for the price of the wraps, I'd expect a LOT better.

I thought the quality of the carbon fiber wrap from the vid in the above post was very good and i'm picky. So far it shows no signs of comming off and its been in the freezing cold garage for a few weeks now. Here is a closeup pic of the upper plastic piece I did on my bike. Web site if interested is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/12-x4...Q5fAccessories

WOW! That looks really good Brian. What did you do for the bolt hole there? I think this will be one of my next mods. Thanks!

Thanks, really easy to do with a hairdryer on high and just form and shape around it. That bolt hole just got covered over. Didn't cut around it
