Turn signals not blinking
My turn signals turn on but won't blink. The girl I bought the bike from said it was because of a relay and gave me a replacement. I installed the new relay and still the signals won't blink. I googled the problem and some people suggested getting different bulbs as the wrong ones will cause the system to not function properly. What do you all think?

Are the turn signals stock or aftermarket?

I think they're aftermarket because the previous owner removed the stock fender.

Incandescent bulbs or LED's?
I'm guessing LED's because they stay on? If that's the case, you need a mechanical turn signal relay, not a thermal one.

Actually after closer inspection, I'm going to say that they are OEM signals with incandescent bulbs. They are identical in every way to the signals that are on the stock rear fender.

Pics?
And, my first thought would be to make sure the bulbs aren't burned out. Then try the other relay like Al said. If not there, check all the connections between the signals and the rest of the electrical system. See if there's any connection problems there. Good luck!

Problem solved thanks to a NAPA 552 Thermal Flasher. Evidently the part that the girl gave me was either wrong or broken.
Thanks for the help! |
