shinto clipon disaster

So I brazed some aluminum to the clip-on's handlebar end to tap some tread for the bar ends...zapped it with a little too much heat and it melted...damn!!!
Hopefully the replacement part is reasonably priced.

It's probably not that expensive to replace, however, you'll probably have to wait a couple months to receive it.

Are you going to try a more conventional attachment method for your bar ends? Maybe the expanding plugs from the bigger bikes.

A local machine shop could complete the fill and the turn the bar back to spec on a lathe. May cost a bit though.

Yeah. Tried that rubber thing but could find a hex bolt long enough so I thought....well I shouldn't think too much cuz this will happen

So I brazed some more and fill the whole, grinded down so now it looks semi decent. Going to attempt tapping some treads tomorrow. Prob will need to order a couple replacement

I welded up and tapped some treads at the bar end on that handlebar. Everything is fixed now. No need to get *replacement. Will post pic later *
