[RideApart] - Video: Even a Monkey Can Do It

When we fist mentioned the idea of posting a video about a monkey riding a motorcycle, we thought maybe there was something wrong with the water here at the RideApart offices. That’s the dumbest idea and a waste of time… until we watched the video. We’ve seen animals do tricks, but this is a little bit more complicated than training a squirrel to water ski.

Some of the American motorcycle companies, like Harley-Davidson for instance, are seeing profitable numbers in sales for the first of 2014, primarily due to big sales in India. The culture in India has evolved making motorcycles a primarily form of transportation for most of its population. Overcrowding, taxes and street laws make a motorcycle a better idea than a car. Add an abundance of motorcycles and monkeys and it was only a matter of time until you see one riding a motorcycle.



We picked two of our favorite videos, one of a tourist blown away by seeing a monkey zip past a bus on a crowded street and another for a group of school children. Now, if they can only train them to pop wheelies and one-handed endos.
