Tell me about it! Because traffic had just kinda opened up after a major freeway junction, I was getting back up to speed and gaining FAST when it happened even though I was still many car lengths behind. It's a good thing it happened when it did instead of when I was passing them, which would have been soon after.

Someone was randomly shot while driving her car down that very same freeway the next morning so I have to wonder if they are going to find a bullet or something in her tire considering the vagueness about what triggered it. Yes, "shot," as in a bullet from a gun. They found five shell casings by the freeway.

Wow I'm glad she seems to be ok. You need to find another route to work for the next few days. Not much bullet protection on a motorcycle

Mounted my new Area P race exhaust and cleaned and tweaked the carbs.
Today I hope to synch the carbs and mount the Penske.

So... That freeway is pretty messed up. Like if a highway ran though Oak Cliff. I don't like freeways, period. I saw a picture on Leslie Porterfield's Facebook of a tire that a customer had. He said his tire went flat, took the bike to the shop, and there was a 2"x.5" piece of steel about 6" long that went through his tire AND rim. Another reason to hat freeways. (It looked about that size). And there are idiot drivers on the freeway, so I ride in East Texas and keep my bike there at all times and costs.

Switched back to my old rear sprocket due to unexplained excessive wear on the new one.

Different materials? Is it possible that the chain is too tight? Looking at the ridges, it looks like too much pressure, almost like its barely catching the chain.

JET: Any chance the new sprocket is the wrong chain size. Is it for sure a 520?

I just cleaned my mirrors, windscreen and some dirty spots on the body work; I swapped out the license plate bolts for 2 that actually match, adjusted the clutch cable to my liking and checked the psi. front tire was about 23psi and the back tire is about 28psi; what should the stock irc's pressure be? (I don't have a manual). I figured about 26-28psi front and 30-32psi back, sound correct?

I just adjusted my rear shock, it was on the first position and I'm 250lbs, lol. I changed it to the 3rd position and it seems pretty good although I never had a problem with the first position. I changed it just in case I hit an unsuspecting pothole...poor potholes .

I already have a thread for it. It was identified when the chain became far too loose.

It's a JT sprocket and the model number checks out (JTR486.41). It has the same JT logo as the original OEM sprocket, so I assume that it's the same material (I believe it would be marked "JTA" if it were alloy). I even got the front sprocket specific to the current gen despite it being hard to find and everyone insisting that it wasn't needed. They all insisted that using the old part without a shim would cause a little extra wear on the chain and sprockets, so I went out of my way to REDUCE that because I wanted to get many more miles out of the whole setup.

Changed the oil (thanks for the DIY, kkim!), washed it cuz it looked like I had just won a supercross title with it, lubed up the chain, watched Tron: Legacy (probably not a good idea), and then rode it! Found a superior route to work, and practiced downshifting while braking.

Cleaned the chain. Yecch. Graphite moly lube is a holy mess. Good news is that the stuff stays on the chain for 400 miles and lubes like a sonofgun. Bad news is that the chain and sprockets looked like something out of the industrial revolution, as did I once I got finished. Then lubed the chain with Castrol motorcycle chain wax, leaving the moly in the cabinet.

Well, I rode SLIME-R for about ten miles around my neighborhood and then applied a new tank pad to her tank, as the other one just didn't want to stay on anymore.

Here is SLIME-R's new tank pad.

I cleaned it earlier before I surprised my girlfriend who didn't know I bought it and was almost as excited about me getting it as i was . Then I adjusted my headlight because it was waaaaayyyyyyy too high; I found that out after I took my first night ride and was blinding my girlfriend by riding behind her...whoops.

Today was a loooooong day. Started out by picking up some rim protectors from cycle gear. Got home, cleaned the chain and then began the process of removing and mounting and balancing my new Bridgestone BT-023's. I got the front one done and noticed my front brakes were worn. So I installed some new EBC HH's once I got the tire back on. It took me several hours to balance my tire since it was my first time. Mounting it was also a pain until I went and watched a youtube video by rockymountainatvmc.com. Good stuff right there. The scudman videos don't really help as much as the one from them for mounting.

Tomorrow is the new rear tire, new 43T sprocket, and lubing the chain. I'll inspect the brake pads as well.

Ran it on the dyno and played with the jetting. .
Penske has the wrong clevis on the bottom so I can't mount it until I get that sorted out.
Today's mission: Drop the forks in an effort to increase the overall ride height, in an effort to get 1.5* more lean angle and not drag footpegs.

I HATE TEXTERS, ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY DRIVE.

I thought it was bad when I was in East Texas... Dallas is just horrible.

I had to swerve to miss a cow on US259 at night before. It took up the right lane and 1/3-1/2 the left lane. I was riding home from work (at 1:00) and I turned my brights off because people were coming in to town. I saw a black thing, moooooved over (punny), and when I saw it was a cow walking I swerved to miss it.

I used to ride down to my field on my 250 before I got my licence. I even got to my deer stand on my Ninja before (means I went down trails). I want to take the fairings off, put some bars on it, and change the tires for some knobbies, YEAHHHH. That'll be cool.
