Ex.side timing chain guide
It really just sits down there with no real attachment? The bigger kawis have both sides bolted... Is that what is responsible for the annoying tickticktick?
I broke a spark plug good in the head so I took it off... ****er was practically welded in. Wound up drilling it to 21/64ths then running the tap in it to get rid of the debris. Took all damn day to pull the engine and pull the head apart. But it's finally back together. It's always something

Does the guide has a play respect to the cast; does it moves once in place?
There is always a project waiting to test your persistence.

It has nubs to keep it from moving side to side, but the design apparently is to sit on a step in the case pushed on by the cam chain.

The cams have to be removed to get them out... But that seems to happen every other week for me. The zx engine has basically the same head design but there is a bolt that goes through the side case and locks the top of the guide in place so it can't move... I guess it can't move very much now... Maybe I'll try modifying it
