motardinn.com - Held Phantom II - $217?
Does anyone have any experience with these guys?
They seem legit but they are selling these Held Phantom II gloves quite a bit cheaper than anywhere else I've seen... http://www.motardinn.com/motorcycle-...-black/59628/p Thoughts?

Yeah I am pretty sure I may bite on these. I was looking to buy a pair of the "original" Phantoms on closeout but then I saw these for not much more.
Apparently they are located in Spain. Comes out to about $232 shipped to US via DHL. Which is still like $60 cheaper than anywhere else... Hmmm.... What color to get...

They have the different colors on their own product pages: http://www.motardinn.com/motorcycle-...ld/8050-500/sm Really tempted to go with the red and white as it would match my A* red/white/black 1 piece quite nicely... but black also looks so damn good... First world problems indeed.

If we order in bulk (group buy to those local to each other), I wonder how much shipping will be?
Hmmm... Oh, I just remembered....it may not be beneficial to us US buyers because you will have to pay custom taxes.

Customs taxes?
I've ordered stuff from China via eBay and never had to pay that... o.O

If you buy leather or any materials made from animal skin generally custom duty taxes apply. Some shipping companies in the U.S. will not deliver until the taxes are paid first while other will deliver and bill you later. I've ordered numerous of motorcycle suits from foreign countries and always got billed custom duty tax. But I can't recall if I got billed for leather gloves (yes, I know these are made out of kangaroo).

The ulna protection on the phantom ii can feel a little restricting on wrist movement. Just a warning because it might annoy some people for street riding.

Pretty much just parts for my bike. Levers, windscreen, stuff like that.
Wasn't aware of the customs tax stuff for leathers. Hmm.. Maybe the price includes the tax already? Good thing to note for sure. Thanks.

It wouldn't be nearly as awesome if we have to pay $50 in custom fees...

If it's shipped from vendor to you directly you still pay custom duty tax.

I emailed the guys at MotardInn about the customs fees.
Curious to see what they say.

Apologies for the double post.
I may just go with the "original" Phantom gloves from sportbiketrackgear. Does anyone know how the fit is on the Held Phantom gloves? Do they run small, true to size? Looks like I have an 8" in palm. I like a "snug" fit so I am curious if I should go with the 8 (medium) or perhaps a 7.5 instead (small +). I currently have a pair of AGV Sport Laguna gloves in "small" and they actually fit a bit loose. I had a pair of AGV Sport Dragon gloves prior, also in small, and they were a bit loose as well. Maybe AGV Sport gloves just run big or something, but I would like to get some gloves that fit... well like a glove lol.

When I bought my Phantoms, I was originally going to get a size 7 as my palm seemed to measure to that size. Ended up getting a 6.5 since 7 was all sold out and they had already been discontinued. They fit pretty snug in the beginning and loosened out a bit (though that might partially be because of my trying to wear glove liners for longer cold rides). I think they fit great now.

I think it's something like ~5% fee on leather "sport" gloves. I don't think that includes a possible fee that DHL may charge you in addition. It will most likely still come out a bit cheaper than just ordering from the usual US distributors, but ehh... I'll probably just go for the Phantom I's. Now to figure out my other problem... black or red/white gloves...
