Aleix Espargaro To Retire At End Of 2024 Season Aleix Espargaro has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2024 MotoGP season. The Spaniard, who will be 35 in July, had been toying with the idea of retirement since the start of the season, and chose his home grand prix at Montmeló to announce it. In a special press conference laid on for the occasion, and in front of a room packed with media and fellow riders, Espargaro told the world he would be stopping as a full-time rider at the end of the year.

Espargaro is expected to take on the role of test rider for Aprilia, something he has hinted at in the first half of the season. He would not confirm directly that he would go on to be a test rider during his press conference.
