Those Spidis look really good, and comfortable too. Not going to have top level ankle protection, but at the price you are looking at there aren't a lot of great choices that do. Seems like a solid choice if you don't want to go with the Latigo.
Hey thanks Floyd, I really value your opinion. So its a toss up between the two. What do you think? Those are the two im looking at the hardest...

Try 'em both on if you can, check out the comfort vs. ankle protection. Then check your wallet to see how much is in there. I think with either you'd be happy and have a decent boot for everyday riding.

Idk most boots in the price range people say lack of support but its better then regular shoes but those dainese 300 for bucks had good reviews did you cheak out the video the shin protecter also helps from ankle flex.

I have the Teknic Chicane half boot and they're really comfortable. I also wear size 4E shoes, so it's super hard to find shoes that fit and are comfortable. My Dainese Mig II boots are awesome as well, but they're for much colder weather than we have right now. I would say that the Chicane/Latigo boots can be worn year round without too much discomfort during the extreme temps.

The Chicane's are waterproof and when I say, extreme temps, I should have clarified that I was talking about warm temps. The boots are warm, probably too warm on those 90+ days.

You can get the "air" version of this boot, with perforated leather. That is what I have (in the Latigo model of the Latigo/Chicane/Laguna trio), and it vents extremely well, making it a good match for my local tropical climate.

I forgot they made the air version as well. I don't commute long enough for it to bother me, so not really necessary for me.

We have seasons here though... lol

that means its hot sometimes and cold sometimes. I kinda wanted one for both, although right now if it catered to cooler weather that might be better since I may be able to get other ones for summer next season..

The Sedici Laguna is almost the identical boot, and can be had for the same price, with a better lifetime warranty. I only went with the Cortechs because I was able to get them at manufacturer's cost from a friend. Right now they are $159, but go on regular sales that drop them $20 bucks.

She got you these, on sale at Cycle Gear right now. Enjoy them, but please wear pants underneath:

I'm only half joking. My wife has really bad judgement in motorcycle gear. I put together a list, a very detailed list, for a reason. Sign.

I really like the Cortech Latigo Air, but they never seem to have it in stock. If they fit me, I'll definitely buy them.

$143.99 for a full boot is unbeatable. Plus they look badass. I like the black and white. I'll look like a damn storm trooper wearing those bad boys.

$200? I'd have to like how they look as well. After my search for wisdom on returning to two-wheels, the boot answer was sidi (ankle armor and vented) for $130 (in 05). Don't buy impulsively dude, cause you can afford some of the best.

As an afterthought I just realized that if I need to wear shitkickers in public, they're actually a bike boot gift. Icon motorheads or something ($99). Dual purpose to boot boots that actually work well in both happenstance.

Touring boot, not for the track, but looks comfortable. Reminds me of my Tourmaster Solution boots very much, so I can't criticize at all. I use those for the rain and for long rides or when I need to do lots of walking. Tradeoff for comfort and long ride tour ability (and waterproof) is lack of track-ready heavy ankle protection.

My recommendation would be see if it is super comfortable for you, because reviews say it is a bit wide, including in the heel as you seem to be finding - great for some not for others. It is made for comfort walking and on long rides -- so at the very least make sure you are getting what it is meant to do by having it comfortable. If it isn't a great fit, then trade it in for sure.

I've got the Bilt boots that look like the Ridge boots. Have about 5,000 miles on them. Good for commuting / road riding and being able to walk around. Not alot in the way of ankle protection. Worn them on 2 trackdays, not alot of room to fit the leathers under, but they fit under jeans pretty well.
