Info/Feedback for Austin, TX Track Days

Has anyone attended Elite Track Days at Harris Hill Raceway? Care to share your feedback? I'm thinking of going on Dec. 16th and possibly signing up for their membership to take advantage of the discounted pricing.

Any other track day organization or tracks within 1 hour of Austin that you can reccomend?

Thanks in advance.

I think there is a track in Bryan/College Station or around that area.

I go there all the time - small 1.8 mile track that is a little bumpy (like all the smaller tracks), but it gets the job done.

I've never been but some of the locals go a lot and they say the 250's are great for the small track.

I would like to make it out there one day to try H2R. The next closest track to Austin is Texas World Speedway out in College Station. You could venture up north further for MSR Cresson or Eagles Canyon Raceway.

Thank you all for the feedback. I signed up with Elite for Dec. 16th. If all goes well, I'll do the membership and try to get there at least once a month. Gonna check out the other tracks near by too.

Hoping I can get into race form for some competition in the future.

H2H is in San Marcos.
TWS is in Bryan/College station, 2 hours away from Austin
MSRC Cresson is about 3 hours away in Cresson, TX
MSRH is in Angleton, SW of Houston, 3.5 hours away
ECR is in Decatur, TX, 3.5 hours away

RideSmart does all except H2H.
TrackTactics are expected to do ECR/MSRC/TWS in 2013
LSTD does TWS
FastLine does MSRH

So, I attended the Elite Trackday event on the 16th. Track was a little wet during the early sessions but dried up later in the day. Track layout was nice, a little bumpy (as mentioned J.G. mentioned above.

Elite runs a pretty relax atmosphere, I really like that. I'm thinking about going back next Monday (31st). Will definitely sign up for the membership since I plan to hit at least two trackdays a month with them.

I secured a spot with RiderSmart for the COTA event in June. It was cancelled then it's back on again. It'll be a challenge for the little Ninja's motor to run COTA but I hope the experience will be just as anticipated none the less. I'll venture out to the other tracks in Texas later in 2013.

Did you get in L1 or L2? L2 would be very difficult on a 250, like TWS. I race them and probably wouldn't run L2 -- that uphill 100' would be a killer.

I purposely didn't sign up to COTA because I didn't want to run a 250 out there. I plan on adding a 600 to the stable in 2014 and will sign up for COTA if offered. I hate going to TWS on the 250, so i didn;t want to drop the cash for COTA and not be happy with the 250 on it. But with all the track organizations in Texas, I will be jumping around, though Ridesmart is my first choice.

Only time I like the 250 at TWS is when everyone is on a 250 or smaller

H2r on a 250 is more fun than just about anywhere on a 250.

We are bringing at least 2 250 on the 31st to H2R.

And yea, Elite is the coolest TD in TX. 20 riders max and 4 straight hours of tracktime. No sessions. All that for only $120
