Embedded Computer Display System
MOD: I meant to post in 2012 ninja 250 farkles. Please move. Sorry about that.
Custom embedded system. Built and programmed by me. Uses two PIC micro controllers and some other accessories ICs. Shows time, date, gear, status of some accessories. (Fuse Box On/Off, Aux LEDs On/Off, Running Lights On, and External Horn On/Off). Also has an "animation/notification" window. Will show animated turn signal, high beams on/off, etc. Also shows information such as gyroscope (was going to be used for lean angle, not working out quite well), if the bike is centered, GPS info, Fuel info and MPG, some other info, etc. Shows outside temp and compass. You can log your trip on it and download it later to the computer and see it on a map (that part was actually a module so I didn't code that, but I did code the interface to it). A little messy, but everything beyond that is loomed. The blue wires in the top right hand corner actually have 4 wires in each, so that made the mess that much less. A lot of the wiring that runs back and forth on the bike is on the other side (hence all the wiring going to that side) and that is all loomed.

Step by step of board 1 of 2. In the last pic, you can also see the completed board 2 in the upper right hand corner.
board 1 is the main board, with the main micro-controller, some memory, inputs/outputs to bike, stuff like that. board 2 is mainly sensors (GPS, bluetooth, accelerometer, gyroscope, some I/O as well). |

Could you share the source & model or P/N of those sensors? I've been meaning to replace the magnetic switches on my cheapo Chinese-made gear indicator.

Thanks! My existing one is really more like this one: http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...0-010-ND/43977 I assumed they were the same type of thing. Will your type not work as a replacement? Mine are way too touchy and extremely difficult to adjust.
