86-07 Ninja lowering rear?
If its been covered before I am sorry.
So I have seen a bunch of info about changing to the "j" rear shock. But I hear it raises the bike up. My wife can "just" touch the ground now. Can you change the shock and mount to use the 08-09 lowering links or will the 08-09 lowering links work with the 86-07 lower spring mount? I like the lowering links that have the 5 diff heights. How easy is it to swap settings? I will be looking into firming up the front end too, I am 230lbs and I bottom out the front shocks very easy. But I need to find something that will work for my wife who is much smaller. Thanks for any help, |

limit the lowering to no more that 1-1.5" max. Any lower and people have been having problems with the rear tire bottoming out into the under fender/liner.
also, if you keep the lowering to this amount, you shouldn't need a shorter kickstand, however, the bike will sit a bit more upright when on the stand. |

If you are looking for a lowering kit with quick adjustment so both you and your wife can ride the bike there really isn't such a thing. The one thing I would suggest is cutting the seat. You can remove nearly 2" from the '88-'07 seat. If you get a spare seat from Ebay then all you have to do is switch seats.

Ok so after going to the bike shop and seeing a broken lowering link on the counter I have ordered a 120/80-16 Pirelli MT75. I hope it will lower it enough to make her happy.

It was made by Roaring Toyz. Looked like a nice piece but.....broke is broke. If they still have it next time I stop in I'll get a picture.
