Throttle issue HELP plz

hey all, i just put on new WC clip ons and a pair of pro grip scs grips w the carbon throttle molded into the grip. it fits into my throttle assembly and all but now there is a space in the throttle when i turn and nothing happens for a second. the throttle catches after and works just fine but i wanna know how to tighten up the throttle cable and lose that play. i am gonna do the zip tie mod to make the throttle open faster, and maybe that will remove the "play" but im wondering if anyone else has had this prob after swittching throttle tubes.

thanks in advance for any help

Haha I had that problem as well. I adjusted the freeplay. If you look at the housing for the throttle you should see to black knobs at the bottom. Loosen the lock nut and then turn the black bolt out(don't go to far though) and it should help tighten it back up. I think the freeplay is supposed to be 1-2mm.

No prob, there is still probably gonna be some play(like when you roll it forward a bit) but that should tighten it up some more.

so i did the tightening w the adjuster and did a double zip tie mod on the throttle tube and now the throttle is perfect! idk if there is any play rt now so i may want to loosen the adjuster just a tad. it stopped raining here and is dtying rather quickly so im gonna take her for a test ride shortly.

ok, there is a very small amount of play in the throttle, feels like stock. the actual throttle response does NOT feel like stock! wow there is a pretty good difference w the zip tie mod. i was doing 70 in a 35 zone when i realized how fast i was going and the throttle was maybe at 1/3!

between that and the woodcraft clipons it feels like im riding a different bike!
next mod: rearsets!!!

Yeah the zip tie mod is great, lets you get to full throttle a lot easier and on a bike like this you definitely want full throttle
