Do you have that much slack? It's been a while since I pulled the cush drive out but I think you can still do it as the designs are similar, if not the same.

When i did mine i had no more jerking when applying throttle. Felt like the throttle was smoother. I heard from ppl that it can wear more on the chain, maybe because it doesnt have that extra slack. Either way i did it and felt alot smoother of a ride. i did it with the plastic from a milk jug.

sweet...and well the wear would be alright for a little smoother ride i think plus it would probably be a while for it to wear...well see...

the cush pads on the newgen arent as loose as the pregen. mine were tight and really, would be a struggle to get anything shimmed in there. luckily it only takes about 5 minutes to take a wheel off, so its not really much work to check and see if it needs it. if it doesnt need it and you are getting bad lash, check your chain tension.

Ours was pretty sloppy, made a big diff.

Theres a dude that makes some custom cush drives for the Marchesini rims. The fit is great and are lasting longer than factory ones.

Been thinking about emailing him, seee if he could do some up for the 250r.

I just shimmed my girlfriends cush in about half an hour. It's so tight and smooth now, I love it. Also tensioned, cleaned, and lubed the chain so I'm not sure how much difference I can attribute to just the cush, but it rolls on smoother than my R6.

whats the difference between the stock rear shock and the GSXR rear shock?
well i mean have you or anyone been on a bike with it on there? the part
is only like 40 bucks i think so even if it didnt feel that good it wouldnt be too bad... and also i thought pre-load adjusters werent really needed?

Rebound and Compression adjustment. It's a stiff spring and you will lose some rear height but can be fixed with Rexbo's new dog bones links. Preload adjusters will help stiffen up your front end a lil bit but will get more out of it once you upgrade the internals of the front forks.

GSXR rear shock has been discussed heavily in the Track part of the forum.

With a GSXR rear shock and stiffer fork springs and heavier weight fork oil the bike handles like a sport bike instead of a beginner bike/sport tourer. The GSXR shock is not a "drop-in" mod; it'll require some work on your part. I have done this to my bike and it completely altered the bikes personality. Proceed accordingly!

I used Rexbo's info as a jumping off point for my conversion. Here is the link...
http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=59486

Finding the hardware was pretty time consuming, however, I live in a small rural area and it required me going to four different places to get the appropriate bolts, nuts, and washers. As you get closer to doing it, let me know if you have any questions.

Perhaps, but only if you know the exact length of the bolts you need. I'm sure it could be figured out ahead of time; I just took my shock and links with me and made sure. Also, since I used washers to space out the links it was helpful to piece it together and determine how many washers I needed.

By the time I pulled everything apart and determined sizes I did not want to wait for things to be shipped. I was on a timeline.

That is a big part of the reason I did it. I'm 250-260lbs. geared up.
