Wow he got lucky with that landing... I would hate to have a bike that scraped pegs that easily in turns.

I test rode one of those huge ass kawi voyagers at the ticket to ride event for kicks. I couldn't believe that it was so easy to scrape that thing. It felt like i was barley leaning.

and most of them think the same thing of you.

There's a place for harley riders, and it's not twisty roads at speed. it's on long, dead straight back roads.

I love how he walked away from his bike like he was just such hot **** he didn't care what happened to his overpriced motorcycle.

Wow, lucky for that guy!

I think Harley's are cool, I just wouldn't want to ride one. I mean, if that dude hadn't gone so fast (or if he hung waaaaaay off) he wouldn't have scraped. But he looked cool the whole way

I wonder how his left foot felt after that. Haha. He got real lucky though. If he hadn't put his left foot down it looks like you could have made it. But his sneaker grabbed the pavement and pulled the bike over even more. Idk though. He might have been doomed from the very beginning.

That is a very cool dude with no clue about how to properly negotiate a turn.

Whoever lent the helmet and the bike to him will have to spend some money in repairs.

There are many videos of bikes crashing in that same location. Why is he any different than the rest of the idiots? The bike has nothing to do with crashing (whether brand new Ducati, Jap bike, or Harley). Rider error is always followed by squid, tool, douche, or whatever. Before labeling other riders maybe everyone should read the "crashed" section on here.

this y so cereal

behold the youtubes:

Link to original page on YouTube.

the point is, its not the bike that crashed, its the rider. labeling Harley as crap bikes (like the thread is hinting at) is kinda bullshit. i mean have you seen the xr1200? i'd totally ride that bike. have you seen the AMA xr1200 races? they're so sweet! just because GSXRs are popular, doesn't mean that the squids gained by that popularity diminishes the quality of the original product.

unless your name is ducati.

Harley low side

In the same curve you see 100 times, not sure where it is or what it is called but apparently if you want to record bikes going down it is the place to go.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Part of the reason this video interests me is that the rider gets to his feet mid slide, but probably got lucky IMO.
I have not been in the situation but only think this is a bad idea and you should ride out the slide on your butt keeping feet and hands off the ground if possible, is this incorrect? If you are still moving quickly and put your feet down to stop you it could end up jamming your feet, ankles, knees legs ect.. then you flip end over end. Just my reasoning

yes in a slide you just want to keep sliding, there was a member here who crashed at the track and posted it and he said he broke his ankle or something for trying to stand up before he was done sliding.

But i dont think meant to get onto his feet so soon, i think he just rolled onto his feet by chance.
