Endurance races at Jennings GP

Who is interested in this?
two 2 hour endurance races and one 5 hour endurance race

I'm looking to put together a competitive team with fellow TPM endurance racers and a select few that I can recruit. Jennings is a fantastic track and this is a great way to ride it

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...ovember-20-22/

@csmith12 @gogoKawi I would be honored if you would team up with me

Nice, it looks like TPM will be out in force. Two teams already planning with the potential for up to 5 teams realistically representing TPM's endurance racing series

I could be interested, but can't commit right now due to work scheduling. Lemme see what I can do. I have only done the mock races at Jennings, would be interesting to see what I would "really" do at real race pace.

I do know... that Nov. Jennings races brings out the really fast guys to keep their skills sharp.

Could be a fun trip!

could definitely be a fun trip, I'm not a definite either unless I have a full team that's interested. It would definitely be a stupid fast weekend, luckily my skills in endurance racing seem to exceed my skills in sprint racing so it could be a reasonably competitive weekend with the right team

if I don't make it down have fun! it would be pretty fun to see you/ride with you again (I believe you can sign up for the practice day even if you aren't racing)

Very tempting indeed! I need to work some things out on the bike before I do anything. The brake feel is abysmal. And I'm still going wide when on the gas. I wouldn't feel comfortable with someone jumping on the bike until those two things are solved. It's been tough enough riding around those issues.

Somehow I'd be willing to bet that your brake feel is better than mine

and I thought the bike was supposed to go wide on the gas

Bad brake feel, going wide on throttle... check for brake pad drag.

I get so paranoid about brake drag

it's highly possible that I have some due to need of a caliper rebuild that I am not able to do until the season ends. There are a few other issues with my bike but they don't show up in track setting.

If I make these races, we can race #511 if ya'lls want, or have it there as a backup bike. It's well sorted and ready to go, no sense in racing questionable equipment.

JGP is putting it on using the WERA rules. You'll have a license next weekend, no worries.

CCS license counts as well but yes, a current race license is required.

Oh snap ya'lls... A few of the junkies (my local group) caught wind of these races. The competition just upped their game as they are coming. One of my friends "Tuna" Brain Mullins will be there racing. Yep, he is fast but this is a team effort, so ya never know.

Bring your A game but come for the fun.

ps. I am still seeing if I can work this out work/family wise.

I didn't race this year, so my 3 race licences are from 2014. You think that will be an issue?

at worst you'd only have to update one wouldn't you?

also if you can make it work then I can make it work, my bike isn't eligible and I won't have the cash to do the full track prep on it that I'm doing for next season until feb so I can only hop onto a team

there are a few potential options, hopefully one works out

otherwise I'm with you guys

31's is my 250 track day pace, they must go faster.

I am most likely out of these races, let's just say... family first. Good luck to ya'lls that race and hope for a good race for those who just come to support the racers and watch.

Wish I could be with ya, but it's not looking good. Hoping for a miracle or to win the lotto or something.

CCS Race pace on a 250 at JGP is low 1:30's

You, Ron or Jon, I were doing mid 30's last Nov. just playing around in the moc race (vid on my youtube channel). Times would have been even lower if it weren't for the 600's in our way causing us to take all kinds of passing lines trying to set up a pass. hahahahahhah Not bad, considering I have only ridden that track 8 times in my life.

Next Feb. I will be back at Jennings again with the AFJ crew. Let's go out in A on our 250's and set a new lap record. You in?

EDIT: I still have nightmares about locking the front to not asspack the 600 rider on the first lap.

Next Feb. I will be back at Jennings again with the AFJ crew. Let's go out in A on our 250's and set a new lap record. You in?
I'd love to get in to the 28's or 29's.

That weekend my gearing was screwed up after running at Palm Beach. I should be able to do a 1:30 flat there.

2016 is still up in there air. They just started a new race series here in FL that may have some interest to the 250 crowd.

I'm probably out

I wore through my suit and smashed up my helmet yesterday, not sure I can afford to replace that, get the parts my bike needs (for next season), and cover the cost to drive down

yeah, I'm fine other than my elbow

I kinda wore through my suit dragging my elbow trying to put the front back on the track, my elbow gave out the moment there wasn't any suit left and that was that

slid from the apex of T10 to the turn-in point of T11 at nccar, pretty solid distance
it is what it is though, I'm not running that front tire again
