I also need to seriously pick up speed if I want to get anywhere racing-wise. I first started when I was 15 on the track and made a few more track days but just kind of stopped going for like 2 years. Hopefully I can pick up some serious speed this time! Lol

The 20% won out.

I will not be participating in the endurance race this year.

Trainingbfor next year starts after I finish my pizza and beer.

Things are changing on my side, there is a better change I will be there. Still not 100% but it's a better chance than 100% no.

one does not simply need a shoei (unless it was trackside and that's all the vendor had, for me I'd end up in an arai and I'd be fine with that hahaha)

@Sirref they failed my K3 and I couldn't find a helmet that fit me well from a friend. Had to buy one at cycle gear. It was a huge bummer.

Nope, it was brand new bc they failed my previous helmet. The K3 wasn't ECE or SNELL, just DOT.

I'm interpreting that only 250's can compete in all three races, and 300's in just two. Is that correct? Also, is this following all of the WERA safety rules: coolant, safety wiring, steering stabilizer, etc.?

3 classes for all 3 races. 250SS, 250SB/300SS, KTM.

It'll run under WERA endurance rules. Chapt 10, IIRC.

Saftey prep from WERA, CCS, CMRA or just about any sanctioning body should be the same.

Thanks for the clarification on the race classes. I can never get used to all of WERA's classes.

Just trying to understand what the tech rules are since the races are based on WERA's setup. More things to do for WERA safety wiring-wise. WERA, you can't run Engine Ice, but you can in CCS. Plus WERA requires all bikes to have a steering stabilizer.

I have run this event in the past they run by WERA's rules as far as bike classification, tech has been in line with any of the race organizations. None of the 5 bikes I ran through tech had a steering damper.

Okay, I may be in again. My friends are helping pay for the entry fees since I'm supplying the bike. I have a few questions though.
Practice is $120. Is that per team or per racer?
Also. I put on fresh tires for the GNF, did two races and a practice day. Will they last through the whole endurance weekend?

yo @Floki, if I can get a plane ticket down can you pick me up at the airport to race with you?

alternatively @csmith12 I'll split gas if we can meet somewhere along the way, or if you're in @gogoKawi I can split gas with you

I'm up for riding with any team, but I want to run these races for sure

Ben, I thought I could pull off this trip last minute but it ain't happening for me. However, my bike will be there racing without me again.

Ya'lls stop in and say hi to the guys riding it. As part of the deal of them using my bike, you are allowed to pass them 1 time. lol

Ok so I can run sat on @Floki 's bike and sun with you guys on your bike then?
@Floki would I also be able to run friday on your bike for the practice?
I have some tires I may be able to bring

dunlop A13 front and bridgestone bt003r rear, will be an interesting combination but I think it would work. At least better than the bridgestone front and rear. You can keep the tires after, we'll just need a way to put them on the bike when we're there
edit: nvm, they'll be selling dunlops so we may be able to put a dunlop rear on there to match it

98 748L number 77 out of 100 built. It's fully tracked though with clutches and an 853 motor. Eventually I plan to restore it to what it was with street plastics and all just as a project.

Well @Sirref is getting fast, but I'm his limiting factor right now. Low sided in turn 13 reverse layout. 99% sure I ran out of tire, or somehow overloaded the front. Tore a hole in my suit and my underwear is glued to my skin, but I still plan on kicking some ass tomorrow, and Ben will still ride my bike.

EDIT: Now you know why I wear yellow thongs, they have less surface area to stick to skin. hahahahhahahahahahaha

I spent 6 hours fixing that bike up hahaha

The bar bent at the clutch lever mount so it took a lot of work to get it off and then the rearset was bent badly but what really took time was zip tying those cheap fairings back together.

I got it done though and went out today for both 2 hour races alone. Put on a hell of a day too. Got 3rd (then bumped down to 4th due to clerical error) in 250superbike/300superstock in the first race. I finished 3 laps up from the #511 and on the same lap as tuna's team. I gave it everything I had

Then the 2hr backwards came up. I was barely walking when the race started but went out the gates flying. Jennings reverse is freaking awesome! I passed rider after rider only to catch up to the next one within the lap until I finally caught up to someone that I couldn't pass. It stayed like that for a while until my body started giving out. I slowed down a lot in the back section more and more each lap. Then I hit the point where I was unable to physically move my body across the tank with my legs and started using my elbows to shove my whole body across. This lasted for 5 laps before I saw the halfway flag and my body just gave in. I pitted out then and the wera tech guy informed me that I was done, which I couldn't argue against since he was right. I had to be helped off the bike and into a chair.

I'm disappointed with how the second race ended. Especially with the pace I was laying down for the first half hour. I even passed one of the ktm rc390 cup kids (after he passed me a few corners earlier) (I was also ahead of the #511 again at the halfway mark)

But the day was good. Jaques and Josh were flying but I'll let them post up about their day

What are the endurance lap times? Tuna can hack 1h sessions at near sprint pace, so my guess is they were pretty fast.

MOTM - Mar '14
Fastest time of the day was Jackson Blackmon who turned several 1:25s on an rc390. Tuna basically tied with Josh for fastest 250 time at 1:30 flat (reverse) race tInes in regular seem to be around the 1:33 mark for most tears vest lap in regular. I don't remember the reverse typical times. The turbo turtle ninja 300 is turning 27s in both directions as are the jennings coaches team on an r3

Yeah, several teams have ama racers on them so it was bound to happen. Other teams are pure wera expert racers. There are some fast guys out there but most teams have a guy running in the 1:40s which slows them down. I completed a good amount of laps for being slow and combined with not doing rider changes every 30min that put me at a respectable finish in the first race. It's not all about the fastest time in endurance racing

I'll be on the #62 today in the rain
