question: storing feeler gauges
Last time I did my valves I borrowed my cousin's set. It was rusted to s*** and you could barely make out the numbers. not a fun time.
So how are you supposed to store them? |

Dont buy crappy ones? I dont know what to tell ya, mine have never rusted, maybe because I dont clean them and the oil fights off the rust?

All of mine are always coated with a thin film of oil. You could just stay them down with wd 40

I had a set that rusted pretty much into a solid lump in a few years time. Since then, I wipe mine with grease every few years.

Yes, they are supposed to be stored with a layer of oil. If you bought them new, they likely came that way.

The numbers were probably off too, rust can fur up or flake off, certainly if you're looking at 0.05mm differences
