Sidecar for 2011 250
Hello,
I've really enjoyed my 250 so far, but I've got a BIG PROBLEM My new girlfriend is a little on the heavy side, God love her, (4'8"/327#) We tried riding 2 up the other day, but the rear tire rubbed the whole time-actually wore through the undertail Besides that, her chubby little legs really couldn't grip the seat well. She fell off 3 times!!! Thankfully I had wrapped her in bubble-wrap (I can't find a suit that fits her), so she was ok. The last time, she rolled down a steep incline and into a small stream. Thankfully, due to the bubble-wrap and her inherent low density, she floats really well I had my cell phone out to call the EMS/helicopter because I knew I'd never get her back up that hill. But then I saw that the stream wound around and went under a bridge about a quarter mile down. So, I rode down there, found a long stick, and managed to fish her out. Thankfully, she was none the worse for wear-not even wet! I don't care what she looks like or how much she weighs or the fact that she has a pronounced lisp (after 6 months, I don't even notice it any more-except when she tries to whisper my name during sex-I've asked her to stop-it creeps me out and kills the mood). She says it's a "gland thing" and that she can't lose weight. I want for us to be able to enjoy riding together. I think if she had a sidecar that might be possible. Anyone know where I might find a sidecar for a 2011 250? |

I dunno, I thought the imagery of someone falling down the steep incline into a small stream was pretty damn hilarious.

Buy a bigger bike, get her a bike or better yet, buy a Ural. A sidescar on a 250 will not work.

Ummm... uhhhh If it's a joke, I think it might be a little offensive. If it's not a joke, my honest opinion is get a cruiser.

My pleasure, Pugs
No, I'm not serious I've seen the Urals with sidecars-neat! I don't want one, but I do think it would be funny to see a matching sidecar on 250/sport bike-absolutely pointless and counter to the purpose of sport bikes, but funny |

Offensive? Ok, then I am serious, and I'm going to spend a ton of $ converting my 250 into a trike.

hehe-thanks
Yea, I kinda figured the bubble wrap part, along with a few other things, would be a gimme Don't get me wrong I really enjoy this forum. I know that several of my posts have been a bit off the wall, but I want y'all to know that I'm not poking fun at anyone or the forum itself-just figured people like to laugh every now and then. I hope to have something of more value to contribute, as I have received so much of value from here, but I don't have the experience to do that yet. What I can do, for now, is offer a few laughs from time to time. Again, I don't intend to offend or aggravate. |

I tried sidecar rigs for a few years; they are sluggish, no where nearly as nimble as a motorcycle, or even some cars.
They require good amount of effort to steer/turn, even the lighter hacks; you better have good upper body strength if you want to operate the hack for long period of time. Ninja 250 maybe not have enough torque to make a decent sidecar rig. You really need an engine with good amount of lowend torque to get the heavy rig going from stop. Something like a Bandit 1200 might be better suited for heavier passenger/sidecar monkey. You might be better off with a maxi-scoot, like Burgman 650, something with a backrest so she can lean back against. |

Hey Dave, is it trolling to try to inject a little humor into peoples' day?
Is it trolling if people really enjoy reading and responding to the post? If it is, then I guess I am stupid. If, not, I guess you are. BTW, I've always thought that mowhawks reeked of intelligence. I've also always wondered why people respond to posts/threads they think are stupid in the first place? Help me out with that, Dave, or do me a favor. Just don't respond to my posts. |

My wife is weight challenged, so I am totally offended by this thread. Here is a picture of her topless on her Suzuki, just to prove it.
