Any vape folks in the house???

I got a spinner the other day an it is great compared to the silly lil vape things, but nothing crazy like some of the mods my friends have

You have a favorite vape, any amazing flavors a person just had to try?
I'm kinda partial to unicorn blood at the moment!

Hey it's cheaper than cigarettes, an not as illegal as Mary j wanna

Tastes like skittles
I would get the makers name off the bottle, but the lights are out, an I may fall an can't get up... Pain killers are amusing (my doctor was nuts to prescribe me to take these two At a time)

Tried them in their infancy, didn't notice any kind of anything from them. Just a bit of a sore throat.

Surely the tech has improved -- do you actually feel a psychoactive effect?

lol @corksil. i like the way this guy rolls.

my brother just got a fancy one. i have a lot of friends who use them. i quit smoking tobacco so i stay away from the vape cig juice also which is most of it. but i do like taking puffs off my brothers' when he is using it. he gets the non-nicotine kind so i dont mind taking a puff or two. its nice to play with the smoke. they are extremely popular here.

they have both. ones with nicotine and ones without. my brother smokes them to replace the habit of smoking cigarettes. he used to smoke cigarettes a lot but then switched to nicotine juice vapes and then switched to non-nicotine vape juice. he used to smoke a lot more but now that it doesn't have nicotine its only for the habit / oral fixation thing. so you still get something out of it and it's actually nice to use since they taste good now. and if you want it you can have the nicotine high. but you don't have to have nicotine if you don't want it. since i like to smoke but i have quit cigarettes because i was addicted i like to use the vapes with just the normal non-nicotine juice because i just like to smoke. i've been around smoke all my life and even when i was a little kid i played with smoke from incense. smoke is just fun to play with.

I'm gonna have to try some of that honeydew!
I like watermelon, berries, all that good stuff.
Probably move up from a spinner to a real mod cloud blower before to long.

well, I smoke a blu e-cig. Not sure if that counts or not...

I like it. The cartridges are dirt cheap compared to regular smokes, about $12 for 5, and 1 cartridge is equivalent to 1 pack. It's still nicotine, I never have to worry about a lighter (though I still carry a couple) and I can smoke inside public places.

^^ Yeah I noticed more throat irritation from the e-cig than I did from actual smoke. I'll see if I can dig up something I wrote reviewing my first impression..

It counts. Cigarettes sure did get expensive! I don't really think they should have been banned in places, but I'm glad for E-cigs!

MadVapes watermelon Ice is good stuff as well I have lots of different flavors I'm trying at the moment, unicorn blood was just the last one I got before that post. I'm on vape nectar = blue dream now... It's pretty durn good as well. I forgot the name of the Carmel popcorn stuff I tried, but I will more than likely be getting some more of that in the future

That really depends on the flavor / brand of juice you get... I had some vaporX vanilla that tore my throat all up, other than that, I really haven't seen any issues

I have a few former co-workers (mostly the young ones) who love the things, they seem to be a big hit with high school students. I'll get one down the line, not for the nicotine but because I like blowing smoke, it's likely to be healthier than smoking hookah bowls purely to create massive clouds of smoke.

I gave up tobacco long long ago but it is still part of group rides to stop for a cigarette break periodically so it would be nice to join in with a nicotine free e-cig
I wonder if there would be any placebo effect with a pot flavored vape?

Doubtful, but you can get or make a tincture to use in the liquid type ecigs.

Two of my long-time friends run competing Vape shops. I do not partake but I think their enthusiasm for the product is a little over-enthusiastic. They both like to quote year over year growth stats and such, which will be irrelevant once the market is saturated. Then there's the ever-present threat of regulation, which I can only expect to be SEVERE. I'd take a "wait and see" approach if I were them but, then again, perhaps there is some merit in the "hit it 'n' quit it" approach as well.

I figure I'll post this here because everyone I know who vapes is usually wilfully ignorant, and a lot of you are reasonably intelligent people.

Before you transition from smoking to vaping, repeat after me:

There will be side effects. There will be side effects. There will be side effects. This is not good for my health. I do not know for a fact that this is better for my health than smoking. I am a guinea pig, and I am paying money for such a privilege.

That said, it's proven to be an effective means to quit smoking, and the short-term studies so far have been promising (when the media doesn't fudge the facts, like that diacetyl bullshit).

The two risky things with vaping, aside from the nicotine (a necessary evil in the whole process), are the PG and the flavorings. Some people have kidney/liver issues with PG, are allergic to it, their chest gets heavy from inhaling it, etc. And the flavoring, since its ingredients are so rarely specified, it's a huge variable. One flavor might give you some kind of brain damage, another might give you this, another might give you that, and some might be okay. There's really no telling because you don't know what's in it, there is such a diverse variety of flavors, and such a diverse variety of people using them. It could be hundreds of years before any coherent data could be produced on what flavorings are good and bad.

"But... But it's food grade!"

That means it's reasonably safe to eat. That doesn't mean it's safe to inhale. You can eat a fistful of dirt and be okay, but it would suck ass to inhale that.

So, since PG and the flavorings could pose a reasonable threat, the logical thing to do is vape only VG and nicotine. And that's just what I do. I've found that I don't miss the flavors, I don't get that meth-mouth feeling, I don't get dehydrated from this any more than smoking, it doesn't annoy people around you, and your friends aren't always asking, "ayyyyy lmao that smells good can I hit that?" I don't get bloody noses from it drying out my nostrils, and oh, did I mention it's DIRT CHEAP?

https://www.nudenicotine.com/product...gnicotinebase/

It costed me a total of $20 + $6 shipping for 100%VG with 3mg/ml of nicotine, 500ml of the stuff. This is gonna last me for a few months.

"But, however bad vaping is, even with flavors, it can't be as bad as cigarettes, right?"

The point of vaping is to minimize the risk of diseases. If you want to exponentially minimize the risk, as well as side effects, this is the way to go.

This still doesn't mean vaping, even with unflavored juice like I do it, is safe. But, less ingredients = less risk.

If you're still not keen on giving up the flavors, it's cheap enough to where you can afford to try out just a little bit of it. $20 for 500ml is a steal. $20 normally gets you 30ml of a "premium" flavor. If you're still not sold, I respect your decision.

So what are your thoughts?

inb4 I just breathe air lol
inb4 My mom quit in a day it's not that hard
inb4 One kid put a 5A 18650 in his mod and used it at 100W and it blew up in his face those things are dangerous and could explode at any second

Seems reasonable.

Vaping seems to produce more smoke (or maybe I just see it) but no butts! So I support it as an option for smokers.

Been vaping for about 7 years now, before I smoked about 4 packs of Marboro Reds a day for about 30 years.

I get my nicotine fix 36mg and save a bunch of cash, 50mL bottle last me about a month or so.

Not to lecture or preach or to tell you what you should or should not do.
I post only FYI if you wish to read and share a little of my life experience for you to take what you will.

I have COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
Basically; emphysema. I will likely be dead in the next 5-10 years and it is a similar experience as wearing a plastic bag over my head and slowly cutting off the air.

I smoked for close to 20 years, quit for well over 20 years but the damage was done. Major contributors to OPDC are small particulate damage and chemical damage which inflames and destroys the lung broncii. Vaping injects both particulate & chemical products deep into the lungs. As stated in the previous posts: long term damage from vaping is unknown. The effects of putting a plastic bag over your head can be experienced today.

Like almost anything in life: if you set your mind to it; you can do it and with your mind made up its relatively easy to do. Quitting smoking is like that. I'm sure quitting candy vapes would be at least as easy if not easier.

I already quit... Free of cigarettes and all!
It was way easier for me to quit vaping than smoking!

I'd still rather be around a vaper than cigarettes.

My ultimate goal is to get off of the electronic cigarette. Getting off smoking was just the first step. And, for what its worth, I don't inhale deep into my lungs. I get it to the back of my throat; with cigarettes, you absorb the nicotine through your lungs. With vape, you absorb it through mucous membranes, meaning there is no benefit in inhaling it through the lungs. Still, its going to be a lot better for me when I'm able to kick the whole habit.

Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it.

I'll bet growing back the cillia in your throat and coughing up ~30 years of 4 packs a day gunk hurt like hell.

I have tried smoking in the past but never got a taste for it. Recently I bought a vap kit, not for the nicotine but for the different available flavors. Everyone warned me not to start vapping because it would lead wanting nicotine and then a gateway to drugs. Well I proved them wrong. I can take it or leave it.
