Sorta. You have to use the front motor mounts and radiator and exhaust. I set my bike up to use both engines but my bodywork is totally different. But everything seems to fit.

Why would you want to do that? I thought the pregen has a higher HP rating but I've never seen the official specs.

Pregen motors are a dime a dozen.

First off the header I made is to use a pre gen exhaust on a new engine.
Second . I have never seen a pre gen motor over 30 hp. The new engine is regularly making 34 .
Third.pre gen motors are getting harder to find these days.
But swaping motors is easy. The only problem is the front motor mount is specific to the motor . And the radiator bolts to the motor mount. This will need some fabrication to figure out.

Also once you get the pre gen motor in the new frame the intake manifolds are longer on the pre gen motor. So you need to use the new manifolds or the carbs will hit the frame.

It sounds like it's really not hard to fit the motor in physically. A different mount, cut and tweak the exhaust, maybe mod the intake manifold or use the 08 one.... That's like an afternoon project.
What else is involved? It sounds like you just used their pre gen carbs and new gen exhaust, and it just bolts in?

What is boosting the power from not even 30hp to 34hp as I read? Is it something internal like cams and the different rocker design in the head, or a mix of the carbs, exhaust, etc? If that's the case, I'm also curious if I can just swap the new gen head to the pre gen block. I'm just not really seeing much information about all of it.

I'm about to just get a new gen motor since more power, more mid range, less maintenance, lower miles, all sound great because I just want to hop on my bike and ride, and my current engine is possibly junk.
