New Member, Haven't Ridden in Ages!
I inherited my son's 2007 Ninja 250R, not exactly by choice, lol! I haven't ridden in years since I ran dirt bikes, a Yamaha DT250 and a Kawasaki KH500 before entering Navy Flight School. (I just aged myself.) I have questions on repairs which I already posted in the appropriate section. Hopefully can get it running for one of my kids as it seems an excellent first bike.
Anyway, thought I'd introduce myself! |

It's not just an excellent first bike, although it's is that. I've been riding for 42 years, and my 250 is not sitting in the garage long between rides.

Being off motorcycles for a long while isn't a bad thing.
Like you I stopped riding (in my case I was asked by family members to stop) just before college and didn't start up again until I was 42. I've been back on motorcycles for over a decade now. It's been good. My return-to-riding motorcycle was also a Kawasaki EX250 (2005 year model). Still have the EX250, still love it. Now there are other motorcycles in my garage: '93 Suzuki GSF400 and '99 Honda VFR800. Had to reach back into the years of motorcycles that I skipped over while I wasn't riding to "buy back" a little of my youth. |
