Can we run anti-freeze? I don't see anything in the rule book about having to use water wetter.

you're right, it doesn't say anything, but switch to water + water wetter regardless. I think it was in an older version of the rules but might have been omitted by accident. In the case of accident, water & wetter is much easier to clean up and much less slick than coolant. Its as much a courtesy to everyone else as compliance with the rules.

Werd! And to drain, flush and fill only takes minutes.

Dean, you may want to post this on SCM. Maybe you don't have to do it..IDK. And if it's an error (which I believe it is) then CVMA needs to be aware.

I'm working on it.... Found all the airbox parts and need to safety wire.

How did you guys safety wire the rear caliper bolts? Did you guys switch them out for one with a hex head?

Also, does it matter where you get your tires to qualify for Bridgestone Contingency?
(Not that I expect for podium but just in case Rambo/Rexbo starts taking people out. )

BTW: This weekend was awesome at Chuckwalla! Only one person had to go to the hospital...

Rear caliper bolts:

Doesnt matter where you buy tires just gotta fill out contingency forms, Tige from Cyclemall has them on site.

Does it? Fak!

I just thought it would be easier for all so we don't have to walk far to use the restrooms, can hear/see when it's time to suit up, etc.

Okay, how about near T1? Near the water hose?

Who's coming Thursday night? I'll be there with AsianDave.

Hey, any chance any of you fast racer guys who actually know what you're doing can at least take a picture for me of how you safety wire hoses (And if you're feeling REALLY bored and helpful, a picture of which hoses exactly I actually need to safety wire while you're at it ^^;; )? Also, what the hell is an Oil Galley bolt and what did you safety wire the axle bolts/fork pinch bolts too?

Bit off more than I can chew, I have. These are my last ditch effort questions before I just call and pay a professional to do it tomorrow. And this is what I get for thinking this would be straight forward -_-

Oil galley bolt is the banjo fitting for that flex line on the very front of the engine. Silicone that shizzle.

Here's how to safety wire a hose:

And a hose clamp:

You don't need to wire the axle bolts if they have a cotter pin/safety pin through the castle nut on the other side. The 250 doesn't have axle pinch bolts so thats a non-isue. But if you really want to wire the axle bolt here's how I did it for the rear axle:

and the front:

Okay, Steve is like "Mr. Perfect" when it comes to safety wiring. That's what you get for asking a rocket scientist (give or take...haha). Drilling through the fork?!!! Really Steve? You must have a $500 drill...dang, I gotta give your props for that.

Seriously, there's an easier way of safety wiring and it'll still get you passed tech. Richard (RaceBikeRentals) taught me.

Tiff, if you can't get it done by Thursday just drill all the bolts (including the brake caliper bolts) and we"ll safety wire your bike in 10 mins or less after the trackday on Friday. I have safety wire/pliers/pins.

I'm going to try to finish everything today after I knock out my homework and some errands anyways, but my current technique is.... not as neat and pretty as Steve's. I may take you up on that regardless even if just to see how it's done properly ^^;;

Oh! that reminds me! Are the rear caliper bolts considered flush enough to be siliconed, or did you guys need to drill those too?

And my car is filled to capacity on the little I DO bring so I don't have a canopy. I can't afford to give up my backseat for extra storage since 99% of the time, I get there too late to get in the gates and have to sleep on it. But no worries, you'll be fine, Jon. Sun only burns and destroys super pasty white people.

Haha, no, that they do not. I was officially told that taking even one, single day off to race this weekend is grounds to be fired, so I'm going to be putting in my immediate I quit notice anyways.

Good thing my tax return was enough to cover cheap ass ninja 250 racing for the year

We could definitely take it over and make a ninja formula race.

Formula 40 and Vintage heavy are some fast groups... too fast for my taste.

Modern Vintage Lightweight/FemmeWalla/Formula Singles seems like a better fit for the us. If I only had a CBR250r

Current CVMA classes:
- Formula Singles – 4 Stroke Street-based Singles. Formula rules.

- Formula GP – 125cc and 250cc two-stroke GP bikes, two-stroke
street machines, 250cc four-stroke GP machines, 450cc dirt-based
four-stroke Singles (i.e., 450 SuperSingles). Formula rules
Based on laptimes and group sizes, I think this might be a better class structure.
- Formula 125cc/250cc – 125cc two-stroke GP bikes, 250cc four-stroke GP machines. Formula rules.

- Formula GP – 250cc two-stroke GP bikes, two-stroke
street machines, 450cc four-stroke Singles. Formula rules
Then run Formula 125cc/250cc with Modern Vintage Lightweight/FemmeWalla
