10w-40 oil

Hey so i have a question about whether or not i used the right oil for my 2012 ninja 250r... i used penzzoil http://www.walmart.com/ip/Pennzoil-H...Quart/14962314 but people tell me you have to use a motorcycle type oil. is that true? thanks

Probably not. Check to see if "JASO-MA" is listed on the oil container. Check out the Clutch lubrication section http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_oil. Personally I use, http://www.walmart.com/ip/Shell-Rote...1-Gal/14958681

If it's stamped Energy Conserving, you shouldn't be using it.
