Fuel tank fitment?

Has anyone figured out if the Ninja 300 fuel tank can be used on the 250 frame? This possibility adds another option for those who may want to go EFI on their 250 and stay OEM or prefer an internal fuel pump for whatever reason.
I see that the nubs for holding onto the rubber bushings are still there, but don't know how the tank and mounting holes interact with the frame and fairings.

I feel that this is probably going to end up being rather simple, like the 300 engine swap, but maybe I'm carrying some residual doubt that Kawasaki used the exact same frame for the 300.

It most likely will fit. You may need the rear support bracket from 300.

However, if it doesn't fit exactly, are you willing to cut & weld as necessary?
That's the 100% solution that will always work.
