Good news and bad news...

"Which do you want first, the good news or the bad news?"

"Let's have the bad news first and get it out of the way."

"Yet another month of record high temperatures. The trend shows no signs of reversing, and appears to be accelerating. Our civilization is doomed, once ecological disruption starts to seriously screw with our food supply."

"Ugh. So what's the good news?"

"It feels like April out there instead of November. Tomorrow will be a great day to ride to work."

"AWESOME!!!!"

What part of the country are you in? We had several warmer than average weeks in October and earlier this month, but it's about average now. Still, highs in the upper 50s to 60 is fine with me.

Connecticut.

It's supposed to be gray and rainy, with the smell of looming snow in the air.

Or possibly crisp and cold, with frost on the ground in the mornings.

I lived in NC for a time in college. People would hire me to drive them places during the annual snowstorm that would dump all of about 2" on the ground.

Lightweights.

Yeah, even when I lived in the DC area, people were more used to snow than here. We've had some doozie snows here though. It was 2000, I think, when I awoke to 20", and it was so cold that it didn't start to melt for a week. Our power was off for three days. All the houses around here were using wells, and I was the only one with a generator going, so the neighbors were bringing water containers over and filling them. Two neighbors pump their sewage uphill to their septic tanks, so they had a mess.

I've been riding to work every day for the last couple of weeks. As long as there isn't ice on the roads I ride.

Greg, I'm sure the only reason you haven't won is that you don't have a name and location in your profile.
