Why buying used is scary.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Who knows what people were doing with your bike before you bought it!

uh dude, no offence but that was very intentionally done and it's something that you could see the results of if you examine the bike closely enough. No stock bike will do that, the thing has been tuned specifically to do that.

it looks more like he burned through one of his exhaust valves.

normally you do what he is doing by going wot once its hot and turning the kill switch off to kill spark... sends all the gas out the exhaust where it hits hot metal and combusts. that thing is old enough to be carbed so no need for a fuel pump even.

but seriously. his exhaust valves are probably ****ed.

regardless you should be able to physically see signs of that level of abuse when you're looking at the bike. In this case heating the exhaust that much must cause some imperfections. Even after that test riding it could make you find the problem.

I do agree there's a certain amount of risk involved in buying used but if you know what to look for that risk should be minimized significantly

Right, OP is saying someone may have had some "fun" with that used bike your'e looking at ... (not that someone got a used bike that does what's shown in the video)
