Countershaft Question
Okay, so I've been tearing my bike down, and came across a collar on the countershaft behind the sproket. Does anyone know the function of this thing? I'm guessing its a spacer to help keep the front sprocket properly distanced for aligning with the rear sprocket. Can somebody confirm this? Thanks in advance.

I think that's the one, but the fiche doesn't come up on my mobile phone, just the parts list. And the description sounds right. So I was trying to clean the engine off a bit, and this thing just popped off and fell on the floor. It was so grimy, I couldn't tell from where, but that's where it fit. Well, almost, cuz it doesn't butt right up against the casing due to all the sludge on it. Gonna be cleaning her up tonite.

Well, I cleaned up the frame and swingarm last nite. Plan to clean the engine tonite to get all the grime off it. I'll see how it fits. I'll also confirm if we're talking about the same part when I check the parts diagram on my laptop. Thanks for the freak out of the day, jinx.

Okay, cleared the gunk off the engine. So the collar doesn't go on the drive shaft, but the shifter shaft. So I'm much less worried now.

Funny thing is it actually has the exact same part number:

92027 is just the reference number, 92027-1302 is not 92027-1440.

You're welcome! Pics in cases like this are priceless though, because no matter how many words you use, nothing can replace a pic of the actual part. I can usually ID about 70% of parts from a good description, but almost 99% with a pic. |

I try to get pics of most things I come across. Usually for my own reference when I go to the store for parts or mods. In this case, my hands were so greased up I didn't want to touch my phone. I was actually texting my girlfriend in the house using a screwdriver. LOL
