Odd choke problem

Hi,

I just bought a used 08 250r with 2500 miles (my first!! ) and I am having a problem with the choke. It will start up fine with no choke but when i try to increase the choke during normal idle speeds, the idle speed does not change. Even further, when i fully pull the choke towards me, the engine stutters and finally stops.

Any help or suggestions would be awesome!

Thanks
Ben

Your engine is just happy starting up without application of choke.
Don't use it until the winter time; by then, the engine may ask for it.
It is just additional fuel that is fed to the engine while not enough is reaching in due to condensation on cold surfaces.
The mix that your carbs deliver now may be on the rich side (fuel-wise) and the engine simply starts easier.

Welcome to our site and congratulations on your bike !!!
