Adjustable Foot Peg Mounts
i was browsing some Ebay pages the other evening and ran across these adjustable foot peg mounts. i didn't bookmark and spent time trying to find them again. cycle pirates have them, and although they're abit expensive, they look to have some potential for those who wanna adjust rider posture/position without getting rearsets.
pictured mounts are for pre-gens: SAP-B.JPG here's abit more detail on these 360 deg. adjustable foot peg mounts aloha

I have them on my '09. I will put together the DIY with photos of the install.
I picked mine up from CycleGear off the clearance shelf as a set for under $20.00 after reductions. Someone else ordered them, but "Didn't Fit". The draw back to the Cycle Pirates pegs is that it moves the peg position, but not the lever position for the shifter or brake pedal. Still, careful positioning can give you what your looking for on a budget that does not include rear sets. The Peg set says up to '07, however, they fit the '08-'09 bikes with no problem as your only changing the peg but not the bracket. Last futzed with by wyckedflesh; July 27th, 2009 at 03:37 PM. |

So, I am raising the dead with this one.
Planned on doing a DIY but ended up just following Cycle Pirates instructions found here: http://www.cyclepirates.com/techatta...doc?1254359659 Here's just a quick run through of the installation with Ninja specific pictures: 1) Remove E-clip 2) Take mounting pin out 3) Clean inside bracket 4) Remove old grease & dust from pin 5) Check fitment of bracket, place 360 mount kit on bracket without tension spring (NOTE HERE: the left side bracket was a tighter fit than the right side, making the folding action a bit stiff) 6) Put swivel plate & peg on to the base assembly with pin. Start pin in bottom hole first. NOTE HERE: The pin at this point is easiest just between the swivel plate and base. I tried the peg pin but kept dropping it. Sadly no pictures of the pin in the plate, but there are only three holes, it's not hard to figure out. 7) Rotate the peg around to find your preferred position (Mine is set for forward and down) 8) After you have found the desired location remove the mount bolt and add a bit of Lock-tite on the threads and re-install screw through the swivel plate into base assembly. 9) Remove bolts from foot peg and place lock-tite on the mount bolt threads & replace. (You can put locater pin anywhere) 10) Check the level of the peg (if the pegs needs adjustment use the setscrews to raise it to the proper angle.) Remove peg & mount assembly from peg bracket & locate setscrews. Now take the two screws out from mount base. NOTE HERE: I did not need to do this, the bracket fit and the pegs were level. 11) Put a dab of lock-tite on to the set screws and reinstall into the mount base (This lock-tite will not dry quickly you will have time to make adjustments) Make sure that the setscrews are even & re-install. Adjust as needed. 12) After level is set. Remove peg assembly from bracket and put it back on with the tension spring (Do not forget to put grease on to the mount pin) Press the spring with your thumb to make sure all the holes line up for pin. Then push the pin in to the bracket and replace E-clip. If you do not like the position or wish to use the stock position you can remove the swivel plate and mount directly to the peg mount base. Because I lowered my pegs, I needed to adjust the pedals. Rather than duplicate work again, I'll let @spooph tell you

Another option is find other model Kawasakis' that also fit the pregens.
Which is quite a few, as seen below. Here is one example, Knight Design, but they are a bit pricey for sure. http://www.knightdesignllc.com/Produ...i_MC_Menu.html But I'm sure there are others out there.

Nice DIY!!
I am still thinking about lowering and moving the footpegs forward a tad. I don't need the lean angle clearance. 99.9% of the time, I ride very conservatively while commuting. So, I'm willing to sacrifice lean angle for some long distance knee comfort. The link for these pegs are dead now. Wolf, where did you get your pegs from? |

For the newgen (didn't realize this was a pregen thread), the part number is KAP-B1 and the standard footpeg is FPSTD-B. I got both on Amazon from Powersports Superstore.
I'm having trouble getting onto Cycle Pirates website itself to find out what part is for the pregen. I'm still working on a mini review, only done a few hours on them. But the standard peg is shorter than OEM and I might be leaning towards buying the long version.
