[visordown.com] - Female riders feel happier sexier and more confident

A LEADING global insights firm has released the data of its recent study on female riders.

The study - undertaken by Kelton but commissioned by Harley-Davidson – interviewed 1,013 adult female riders and 1,016 adult female non-riders using email invitation and an online survey to gather data.

The results suggest that women who ride motorcycles have higher feelings of overall self-worth than female non-riders.

According to the study, 37% of female riders ‘always feel happy’, as opposed to only 16% of non-riders.

Female riders also felt sexier, with 27% of them selecting ‘always feel sexy’, in contrast to only 7% of non-riders.

Almost twice as many female riders ‘always felt confident’ with 35% selecting the option, as opposed to only 18% of non-riders.

The study also suggests that riding a motorcycle can improve relationships, 60% of female riders were content with the communication with their significant other versus only 38% of non-riders.

Only 35% of female non-riders were content with the ‘physical intimacy’ in their relationship, 16% lower than women who ride motorcycles.

Claudia Garber, Director of Women’s Outreach for Harley-Davidson said: “Riding a motorcycle is the ultimate form of freedom and self-expression, so it makes sense that women riders are happier in life and, in general, feel more fulfilled.”

“When you’re doing things you want to do, for yourself, and you feel confident, it goes into every aspect of your life, including how you feel about yourself. You feel more confortable in your skin” she added.

According to the study, 53% of women who ride cite their motorcycle as a key source of happiness and 74% believe their lives have improved since they started riding motorcycles.

It is unclear whether the female riders who took part were riders of all brands, or solely Harley-Davidsons.
