Removing factory decals on 2012 Black Ninja 250

Just got my 2012 black ninja 250 and I want to get rid of the yellow/grey factory decals that are on the bike. Its similar to how the 2012 red colorway has the white/black decals.

I think an all-black bike would look much better than the weird yellow spark color, however I haven't read that many people have done it.

What are all of your opinions on removing the yellow spark and making it an all black bike?

I would assume a heat gun would make for easy removal of the graphics, as I have used one to remove graphics on another bike.

I too have this edition, but I personally love how the yellow/grey looks/

Heating will help, but I would suggest a hair dryer - and not a true "heat gun".

A heat gun can supply enough heat to soften and melt the paint/plastic, and you could end up with a messed-up finish.

Use WD-40 to remove any adhesive that's left after you pull off the sticker.

Wait for a hot day, that way, you won't need a hair dryer, leave you bike under the sun.

Then lift a small part of the decal, once it's started to peel it parallel to the surface and not perpendicular. I find it easier to remove them and I'm more successful in keeping the "glue" on the decal and not on the fairing.

And don't peel to fast, keep slow and steady pace, you won't tear your decal and once again, the glue will have more chance to stay on the decal...

That's how I did it, and I was very successful.

Got them off about a week ago. Hot day + goo gone works wonders.

All black looks so much better than black and yellow.

Whats up Steven, It's Genesis. Anyways, in the future check out Turtle wax® Renew Rx® Label & Sticker Remover or Goof off if Goo gone doesn't get the job done.

Im looking to get a slip on next. I liked the sound of your delkevic. Do you recommend any other ones?

wonder if it would be worth it to sell the OEM SE fairings and just buying a set of all black plastics?

More work for sure but, I think the SE fairings tend to sell for a bit more because of the sitckers

At least the black bike doesn't have the graphics in the paint of the tank like the red 2012

All black looks good but the gold and gray have been growing on me

Call me crazy but I think the graphics make the bike look slimmer/smaller more sporty

They all sound similar, but make sure you buy a can with a silencer. I'm looking to go back to OEM. Let me know when you are ready so you can see how I did my Klean air delete. You don't want to deal with the constant backfire.
