2008 ninja 250r carb problem

I just recently purchased a NInja 250 R, the bike has onliy 1700 miles on it. I knew it wasnt running properly when i bought it, i bought it for my step daughter to learn on. This specific problem with the bike is it will not run off choke. It runs perfect while choke is on, as soon as you switch it off choke the bike dies. Here is what i have done so far: change battery, changed the plugs, drained old gas, put fresh gas in, used seafoam. I kind of figure the carb needs to be pulled and cleaned. My question is: is there any way to pull the carb without removing the factory airbox? Can you remove the intake boots on the air filter side of the carb to make more Room to pull the carburetor. Thank you for all of your help in advance.

Have you tried just taking the bowls off the carbs, then seeing if cleaning the bowls and/or replacing the jets helps?

Yes. You can remove the carbs without removing the airbox. But it's a battle! The boots from airbox to carbs are not removable (at least I couldn't do it).

There's a DIY on removing the carbs with the airbox.

It is an art to accomplish but it can be done. Make sure to remove any bracketry on the frame and try to pull them out of the left side away from the CCT.
