Turn signal bolt

I removed this turn signal bolt and when I try to replace the screw will turn forever and doesn't lock into anything. I checked my Clymer maintenance book and past threads on here and didn't find any solutions to this. Is there supposed to be a bolt on the other side? If so, I don't have one anymore. Any ideas?

There is supposed to be a metal piece, basically a plate, on the inside of the fairing that it screws into.

Part number 92200: https://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts...4178#sch731569

It's possible that the plate fell off or got pushed out of position enough that you can't get the screw back into it. You may have to take off the fairing to see what happened to it.

Yeah, reach in behind fairing and follow wire away from hole in fairing. Plate probably slid down to lowest part of wire.
