slip on question

I appologize if this has been asked before but if I just get a slip on pipe (yoshimura) do I need to add shims? Reason I ask is that I still have the snorkel in and it runs fine stock so if I just switch the pipe would it affect anything? I also would be leaving the silencer in.
Thanks

Even a stock bike benefits from shimming the needle. It's not required for stock or with a slip on.
