New bike, and the stable (2002 F4i)

2002 CBR600 f4i w/about 30k miles- got a *really* good deal on it, just needed some cosmetic work- threw some new tires/grips on it and it's freakin' dreamy to ride. I thought I'd need to lower it, but it worked out perfectly. Still need to replace the mirrors and the rear seat. Previous owner took amazing care of it, we took it in for a checkup and the spark plugs/wires/valves were all replaced on time, it's immaculate mechanically.

Bonus pic of the stable at our house:

L to R:
the f4i, my boyfriend's 08 GSX-R 600, and our best friend's 09 CBR1000.

Don't worry, the Ninja is still here! She's in the back there looking shy.

Things I've noticed wrt the f4i is a) how much easier cornering is. Seriously. It feels like you point the bike into the corner and it just swings through for you. b) I feel *so* much more secure on highway riding- it's a bit bigger, picks up tons faster, and it's just more responsive in general.

Before anybody gets too upset, I'm *not* bashing the 250. Promise I think the 250 I got was ridden a bit hard, tbh, and it has REALLY loud pipes which always bothered me. We're going to put a little work into it and maybe have a track bike out of it; we'd both love to do that eventually and it would be absolutely perfect for that purpose.

Injected the f4is are fuel-injected, f4s and the ones below that are carbureted.

Nice! F4i is a GREAT bike, pretty much the pinnacle of the F# bikes. I remember when everyone was hot to trot for the F2 back in the day. Have fun!

Looking at an f4i as well. Elfling, have you noticed more wrist and back pains with the aggressive riding position? That's my main concern since i do some 300-500mile one day trips.

bluphonic - the F4i's are pretty comfortable, relatively speaking. Not as comfortable / upright as the Ninja, but it's ergos aren't as extreme as those of most 600 supersports.

Wil - you might want to send her an e-mail or something, but I don't know how much she'll be able to help - she hasn't posted since the beginning of July, and I don't know if she's riding again yet due to the broken leg... she only had the bike for about a week or so before that happened

I'm a staggering 5'5" so I've got to lean forward quite a bit on super sports. It's either the F4i or a Gsxr600. I'm leaning more towards the F4i but they're hard to come by. I can get a hold of a dozen or more qualifying gsxr's.
