Smile new ride

hey guys and gals, i just bought a 2009 ninja 650R yea!!
just thought id share cause it is very exciting to me and wow is this thing a totaly diffrent bike than or little 250's. I only rode it from the sellers home to my house as i still need to do the DMV and insurance stuffs but it handles freeways much more smoothly and seems alot more stable in wind (i crossed a long bridge so i got a lot of wind) My 250 is still in the garage, i'll be keeping her too; mabey ill turn the 250 into a track bike?

650, sounds like too much bike for me.

Good Luck, be safe, and have fun.

Kawasabi : yes the differince in power is very noticeable, it pulls pretty hard from 2k rpm, but it has very smooth power-not scary fast just more like going from a 4cyl car to a 8 cyl car. not a V8 mustang but more like a licolon towncar.

and to the rest i will do my best to get a photo but my computer skills are.......wel i have no skills i don't really even know how to get a pic from the camera to pc much less attach it to a thread

congrats on the purchase... I have a love/hate relationship with the 650R... can't decide if it is the next bike... leaning more towards the SV650S myself... how do you find the riding position? It is more upright than the 250, right? What about the exhaust note? Stock they sound super muffled (from youtube vids) and IMO aftermarket exhausts sound like ricey hondas...

I wish I could see and hear one in person!

I sat on both recently and preffered the riding position on the SV to the 650. The 650 did seem more upright than our ninjette, and certainly more than the SV. The SV is upright enough that you can be comfortable on long hauls but easy enough to get down over the tank without straining your body. The exhaust note on the SV is also a pretty throaty one which I tend to like myself.

I also like the sv but i really only like the naked sv, the svS is ugly to me and i would rather have the more upright comfortable position than the lower more agressive position of the clip ons that come on the svS so being that the standard naked sv is much harder to come by in my are than the svS and that finding one in red would be damn near impossible. I started looking at the 650R and it seemed to fit what i was looking for. I also got a deal that i would have kicked myself in the butt over for years if i hadn't taken it

But.. but... but... but the OP still has a Ninjette, thus, the OP is not an Ex-Ninjetter.

But the OP is talking about their new bike. Nothing keeps them from talking about their ninjette or motorcycling in general anywhere they like. A ninjette owner talking about their new (non-ninjette) machine is exactly what this section of the forum was created for.
