250r beat my 650!

I'm taking the dirt roads now. Bought my wife a tw200, and I be buying another duel sport when I find a good buy. I want to sell a bike before I pick up 2 more. I've decided to sell the 2012 ninja 650. The quarter liter has my heart. Its staying put. Now I won't have a bike to ride two up on. But I love the little ninja, and I'll still be able to ride to and from work and such. Parts runs, beer runs, weed runs. Everyday stuff. I will miss the 650 and its low end torque, but I welcome the back country! Figured you guys would be glad I couldn't part with the 250.
(Or are you?) Haha j/k.
But seriously.

Have you ever ridden the first gen 650r? You may be more hesitant to sell if you had that one....

1st gen 650 is better than the 2nd gen?

My buddy has a 2nd gen and has limited options for a slip on. Yet 1st gens slip ons are all over the place.

I was happy with the 650. It did all I needed it to do. Never left me stranded. I had 2k miles on it the first 5 days. The 250 just has more soul to it.

Pick up an ninja 500, if you feel the need to ride 2 up again, best part is it's very similar to the Ninjette in many way especially the pre 94 models.

As I have a 91 500, and 98 Ninjette, working on both is a breeze.

I'm not sure if I'm even going to sell now. I haven't decided. I hate selling a bike and then realizing I wasn't ready to end the relationship yet.

Yet more proof of my hypothesis that the 650 isn't a great bike.

Its a good all around bike. But not really great at anything. It always returned 50 mpgs. The 250 never did that for me. I was happy with it. But the 250 is more fun for the style of riding I do.

Aaand I decided not to sell. I just like it too much. Its paid for, and it fills a gap for more power and two up riding. Now when I need to work on a car in my shop, I have to wheel out four bikes.
