Where to get a Battery Tender/Charger for decent price?
As the topic states, I'm looking for a battery charger (Tender Jr. or similar) as well as a larger unit (e.g. Power Tender Plus wired into the car) online for a decent price. Any suggested website I should look at?

most of the time it's $19.99 for the jr from motorcycle superstore... seems like they're pretty much always on sale

Bought a fully automatic charger at Sears last year for $20. Left the bike plugged in all winter.

While I know a bit about mechanics, I can't stand electricity. TO complicate things, I noticed there is a 12v junior and a 6v junior, which one do you guys have? And at which amperage? .75 or 1.25? Whats the diff?

You need the 12v tender (we have 12v batteries). The 1.25amp charger would charge the battery quicker than the .75 amp would, if your battery was in a semi-discharged state. If you're using it to keep the battery in shape while it's not being ridden this isn't an issue. The 1.25amp is a larger unit and costs about $25 more. I have two of the .75 tender juniors and they work great. (this means I'd say get the 12v, .75amp tender jr.)

wal-mart or any such store probably carries a battery charger/tender at a reasonable price. Such was the case with me. I bought a $20 unit and it's done the job so far

I made a visit to wal-mart today. I bought a $20 Schumacher 1.5A charger/maintainer for the bike and a larger 6A version for my car. The little one has quick connects for the battery terminals so I can probably feed the connector to near the outside of the bike to plug it in when I'm not using it. The bike hasn't been run in a while and the battery still shows 12.6V.
I have both the bike battery and car on the chargers now. Winter driving and 1-2 week sits between starts is hell on battery charge. |

I hooked up the Battery Tender Jr Monday when I had the day off and there was still over a foot of snow on the ground and ice on the road. Piece of cake.
The two connections the BT Jr comes with make it a snap to connect. You'll spend more time getting to the battery to make the connections than actually connecting things up. Lead goes up under the rear seat and is protected when not in use and easily accessed by taking the seat off and plugging in.
