I fell in love!!!! :X

Went to Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA this past Sunday for the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown and I fell in love

..Kawasaki was hosting demo rides all day pretty much and I signed up for the ER-6n (which was ok), and this...

Posted at 600cc bike comparison tent

Gettin ready to ride my first super sport bike, peace

Me next to that stupid on the zx-14.. no real gear, and broke the Kawasaki demo ride rules by passing other riders (me) and not riding in a staggered position with the group

Off we go

Back from the 25 min ride with a smile on my face that you can't see

This is the first time I've ridden a super sport bike. I really have no other riding experience except on the 250R. The way this thing handles is AMAZING!!! It's so smooth and knows what I'm about to do before I do it. and the power! oh the power! It's like hang on to your ass power and I loved it!!!! I don't see why I'll ever need a liter bike after riding this thing. I can't wait, I'm gonna have to get this one day.. eventually after I really hone down my cornering skills on the 250R and take it the track once or twice. I'm sold.. and if I get it in a year or two, I'm buying it in GREEN! goes perfect with my Hopkins Arai Helmet!

I have been wanting to try out the new engine and forks on the 09 ZX6, sounds like kawasaki has a real winner to me. I remember the feeling I had on my R6 when you get into the meat of the power-band with the instantaneous throttle response and the tires are just gripping like glue. It would have been a blast at the track where you could really utilize all the technology, on the street the R6 was almost too much though. I like the fact that the 250 is so nimble and light, I have been wondering how much improvement the quick throttle tubes give to the 250r.

not enough to warrant the price. do the zip tie trick instead to experiment.

How were the ergos on the 600 as compared to your 250? I can't imagine that bent over position can be comfortable for very long. Too bad Kawasaki never seems to do these demos in the Mid-Atlantic area.

The 650R that I rode didn't really feel a lot different than my 250 (my 250 has been lowered 2" from stock), just a tad bit taller and of course way more powerful and smooth.

The 650R is very similar in setup to the 250R. I was interested in the OP's ride on the ZX-6R which forces a much more radical body position.

I'm really surprised they would let that one guy go on a demo ride without a jacket. I've been on a couple of demo rides here, and if you don't have half-decent riding gear, you don't ride, period.

The ergos are this are definitely super sport.. the tank itself is wider, flatter, and lower than the 250R, and it's a bit concave so you have room to really get your head low on the tank. the handlebars are obviously lower too than the 250R, and compared to our bikes, the angle at which they point diagonal toward the ground is greater, where as the 250R's bars seems be more parallel to the ground.
all this basically means you'll be bending down more and having your head closer to the tank. while I was riding, I definitely thought to myself that this would not be comfortable for a long trip, but a day's ride in the twisties or track would be a-ok with me.

I got to ride the track for 2 laps at lunch time, but on my 250R. We were all supposed to do 3 laps, but 3 riders went down in turn 1 in the 2nd lap.

Yeah I rode the ER-6n.. basically the same bike but more nekkid. I actually didn't like the riding position or styling. the power was nice tho

Thanks as well. yeah, I just got it and it's cool because some of the Kawi racers had the Hopkins helmet too on the track. I got to pick one up on accident and felt it kinda wet with sweat. I realized that they were the racers' helmets after I asked the Arai guy what he was doing with them (prepping them)

Not sure why either. They only said that you had to have a helmet, gloves, closed footwear, and pants.
It'd be nice if the wasn't riding near me on the demo
