Winterizing Question
Hello, Just finished prepping the bike for winter for my first time. For the gas tank I decided it was best to fill it up to full and and marine Sta-Bill, my question is does the gas tank's setting need to be switch to Prime or On for the winter?

I leave mine in the "on" position, then drain both carb bowls, come spring, I switch it to "prime" for a minute, back to "on" and she's always started right up.

I always leave it on ON (unless I'm draining the tank completely dry). PRI means the petcock allows the gas to be gravity fed from tank into the carbs. ON means gas is allowed to be fed into the carbs via vacuum only.
Are you going to drain the carb bowls? Since my winter hibernation is only 100-120 days, I don't always drain the carbs every winter (when I'm lazy). If you're not going to drain, make sure you go for a quick ride with the Stabil in the tank so that the carbs get filled with treated gas. |
