Bike not starting....

I last rode on Tuesday through some hail and rain and then went to start it today but it won't...It cranks but it seems like no ignition...My spark plugs were last changed at less than 10,000 miles and just had engine work done by the dealer last August so the bike is in good shape.
Is it possible some water might have seeped in somewhere and hasn't fully evaporated or something like that because its been pretty crappy weather here and it hasn't been ridden a couple days. Also the bike backfired a couple times when I was trying to start it.
I've never really had a problem like this ever before either...Suggestions anyone? All I could think of is parking it outside in the Sun and then try again, but its been overcast here almost the whole week...

maybe your gas tank seal is leaking and water got into your gas? shake your gas tank up and take a sample, if water separates from it. drain your tanks and use some fresh fuel.

I managed to get her started about an hour later..Just left her in the sun checked the fuses (all good) and then she started up after a few tries and some encouragement...
I wonder if I had got water in there.
