Yoshimura rearsets with braided brake lines?

Got an '08 with braided brake lines (I strongly recommend this mod btw). I find I need some rearsets for clearance in cornering as I'm hitting the footpegs pretty often when riding in a "spirited" fashion (my '05 VTR1000 Superhawk might be a culprit as my other bike [for sale btw]).

So, the instructions on a Yoshi rearset says you have to cut the rear brake line to get it to fit so it doesn't kink. What is the recommended procedure for braided brake lines?

My guess is the cut they are talking about is to the hose for the reservoir.

Cut?

Your description of yoshimura instructions leave me a bit

You can't just cut and shorten or adjust brake lines without special tools and fittings. Although if you have Spiegler lines then those are made to be rotated with an included tool to prevent line twists. If your just putting on rearsets and keeping the brake components the same then you shouldn't need to do anything to the line.

Oh yes good point.

Because your master cylinder is being raised up toward your reservoir you need to cut the amount your raising it from the line between the reservoir and master cylinder so it doesn't have to kink.

The hose with the large silver clamp on it.

This picture is how my reservoir hose was setup when I had rearset adjusters installed.

I ended up just making a simple aluminum bracket to move the reservoir back.

Just remembered I didn't ride my bike today so here's an old pic I found. Zoom it above the left foot peg and look at the right side of the bike. Right I front of my exhaust hanger is the hose we're talking about. It's like 5/8" thick with a slight s curve to it. The pic shows mine after I cut it.
