Weird noise coming from subthrottle valve?

My '11 Ninja 250 FI recently got tipped over on it's left side. I didn't notice it immediately so she had been laying on it's side (while it was raining outside) for a couple of minutes before i picked her up.

She starts right up but there is a strange whirring coming from what I assume is subthrottle valve(???) when i turn the key.

I'm probably going to clean all the grease off the thing, lube it up and see if it helps but I was just wondering if anyone has any other ideas.

the sound that syncs with your throttle plate closing looks/sounds like the stepper motor used to actuate the plate. It may be a hair out of whack-they are very high precision devices.

The lower pitched "humming" sounds like a fuel pump. Perhaps some rain got in there on a connector somewhere and is causing a shunt somewhere (speculation). Best to let the bike dry out for a few days. The tiny amount of water should not be enough to cause any corrosion.

Finally, most ninjettes of our generation are carbed sans fuel pump. You may receive some outstanding responses in the 2013 300R section. Kawi decided to make all ninjettes EFI in 2013. Those owners may have some more valuable/knowledgeable input. Quote me if need be.

Thanks for the reply.

The low pitched sound is not a fuel pump. Kill switch is ON so fuel pump is not priming at all. All noise is coming from the actuator as can be seen and heard from the vid. I think the low pitched sound is normal but i don't remember it making that high pitched whining sound at the end of the sequence.

I'll let it dry for a couple of days and check for connection issues and see if it helps.

Couple of day back my ninja also had a fall on the left side and after that the Idle rpm is high to a default of 2k and goes random to 6k and behaving weirdly, i think for me the TPS sensor is gone and thus might have to change the whole throttle body. Not sure though, shall wait and watch.

mine is ninja 250 2010 EFI version.

Mine also does this on cold starts. When i start the engine cold and turn the throttle a little bit it jumps to 6k revs by itself, stays there for a couple of seconds and slooowly gets back to idle. When I'm in a hurry and don't have time to leave it to warm up and start riding it accelerrates itself so I don't have to use throttle at all to get going. Very annoying but I was told it was normal for FI models of our bikes which I don't believe. I think it's IAT sensor or TPS sensor malfunctioning as you have said.

For me the issue is happening more erratically, when the engine is hot and i have run for more than 10 miles be it in stop /go traffic or just highways or freeways. not sure why but rpm goes beyond 6000 at random, then i have shut the engine out for couple of minutes and wait and then restart the engine, that also takes couple of more self.
