@Cazper I'm curious whats the appeal of the 14 for you? Like what makes you say this is the perfect bike for me?
For me with the ninja 1000 it was how perfectly it fit me, most comfortable sport styled bike I've ever sat on. And it's easily converts to a sport touring set up. I could care less about the ridiculous amount of power that I'll never use, though it is nice and very fun

jigglet, the 14 is an amazing bike. ive chased skilled riders on busas and 14s through canyons and they hold their own just fine. obviously a little bike beats them on the brakes and flickability in low speed but their high speed ability is insane

I get it, I just wanted to know why the 14 appeals to him. I get why people want cruisers, 600s, 250s, vstroms, sport tourers, dual sports, but I don't see the appeal of a busa or zx14. So I'm curious to find out what is the appeal to cazper of the 14 over 10. The looks? The feel? The comfort? The ridiculously ass****ingly powerful engine that'll have your girl squirtin when she hears it rev up?
Just curious

Different types of bikes. All fun. I've ridden the 14, though not the latest and greatest, and enjoyed it quite a bit. Also owned a 12R for 20k miles or so a few years back. The appeal of those bikes is different than the appeal of a track-focused 600 or literbike. There is a feeling of always having more power in reserve than you'd ever need. Even in top gear, if you want to squirt into a different spot on the highway, you think it, and the bike has already done it. The instant and ever-present torque can be pretty compelling. In some ways it lets you ride the bike however you like, either completely relaxed, or a bit more involved.
(fun fact, the K1600GT has a bit more peak torque than the newest ZX-14R).

only gripe i have is how buzzy it can be, I have a -1+2 sprockets on mine (well 0+2 now until I swap back) and I sit at 7k at 70mph. Ive put almost 500 miles on it on one day 100 of those miles 2 up and it was truly exhausting, 10 miles out from my destination I almost gave up because the seating position was brutal. Dont get me wrong, I love the bike, but its a race bike, its not the most comfortable thing for long distances

I can't even comprehend having more power than I have now, but then again I don't go over 100 very often

@Jiggles, I guess you didn't read post #77... I already explained what does it for me about the 14. No worries though... I get that you don't want one... that's the great thing about everyone being different. If we all liked the same things this would be a pretty boring place!!
@Kevin2109, that's what I kinda figured... I guess I'm just gonna have to hold out until I get my tax return and get the bike I really want. Thanks for justifying it for me. I wouldn't want another bike that just isn't comfortable for the long haul.

oh damn, im now just looking at my tags.. lol
dude who is this open too? I have a crew i know loosely up here in Norcal and they might want to come. They all have R6s and GSXRs I think though. But the ones I actually hang with you would all get along well with. They are very AGATT. Especially the group leader. And the dudes on the R6s wear full suits whenever they hit the twisties and track, and jacket and boots and such when they just ride. All good guys. If its open to them and Im not in Vegas Id be down to see if they would want to come so we could get down there and share gas costs, and such. lmk.

Dude anybody who wants to come out is fine. If they're not noobs then we probably wouldn't spend much time helping them when the noobs could use our attention more but we're always a 'more the merrier' kind of group. It'd be awesome to have more people out there.

The kind of bikes doesn't mean crap - i pass those and liter bikes all of the time. But they can sign up for any group of any skill level out there if they'd like. Or do one beginner group run in the beginning and get used to the track then move up to the intermediate group. We'd love to have more people to hang out with in the pits and still talk riding, etc. I'm just saying out on the track we will stick to helping out the noobs.
