I do. If I had two stock swing arms or some stock of the proper size I could build one of these with little problem. Now, can I ask.... why would you want one?

Are you gonna buy this swing arm?

btw... the brace on that one isn't beefy enough... I can see the Ninja 250 torquing that thing into a pretzel...

i tryed to buy the swing arm from him but he will only sell the whole bike. but i was going to see if anyone would be willing to build one, i would build it but i do not have any of the machining tools or welding supplies. i asked him how the bike drove with the swing arm and he said it was just fine and had no problems.

um...no it's not. that's how you ride in florida. if you want an extended swing arm, that's cool. we was just laughing at your "how we ride" comment. and while you won't find a deals gap on this giant sand bar there are some nice twisty roads. at least in the panhandle.

Not being a dick, but your in Florida, where it seems a vast majority of Swingarm builders are located. Unless you can weld on a professional level and have the proper welder, I would not recommend it. If you had these skills already, then making the swing arm yourself would have already been done. So the suggestion is to look around Florida to find a builder that will either modify yours or make you one out of aluminum.

Okay so maybe I was a little bit of a dick

Now this is a swingarm. CBR954 engine, custom frame done up with CRF plastics and long swingarm for hillclimbing. Though I guess hill climbing wouldn't be a big pasttime in Fla.

OK my turn to be a dick. I just described putting an extended swingarm on a ninja 250r to the chief engineer of kawasaki and he was speechless. Words don't describe it so here is a picture i took of him when i told him about extending the swingarm on his pet project, the 250r.

Though in '85 I did ride a couple rounds of the Florida AMA Winter MX series (amateur day). That Gainesville track had one heck of a drop down ( into the old lime quarry??). It was my first (and only) time there, and during practive I passed a buddy who won the 500 pro class one year. I came around the corner and whoa dropped into that downhill. He said he was laughing as soon as I went by him thinking maybe I should have walked the track that morning.

Just kidding with you. The people on this site are great and offer a wealth of knowledge. Representing all the riders in Fla might not be the best approach early on. And calling them dicks, well I know that isn't the best approach.

There is nothing wrong with wanting a look that makes sense to you. I might not like it, but hey my neighbor who has 2 HD, has no interest in my bike's look. There are no pics of my bike here, because it looks like every blue 250r as it rolled out of the dealer.

One thing though, any lengthening of the swingarm will affect handling. Maybe most important is that a lengthened swingarm could result in a more flexing arm if not done right, and of course a longer wheel base for those times you do turn, not to mention longer chain, brake line.

Give these people a call, I think there the best in the bizz:

http://www.candscustom.com/Swingarms.html

Maybe call up Shane McCoy over at www.tobefast.com Might come out a bit cheaper.

^ After you get your extended swingarm installed be sure and post some pics and I am sure you will have some converts asking you for info on how they can get one. Lead and others will follow.
