How to secure battery in 250R?

Previous owner replaced OEM battery with a lithium battery and it's severely under-sized physically. He stuffs cardboards to prevent it from shifting around.

How on earth is the OEM battery mounted? Is there a velcro belt around it? Is there a mounting bracket? I looked at the Service Manual and did not find this information.

Please chime in if you know. Thanks!

That sounds like a terrible idea for a street bike, makes sense for a race bike. My stock bike has the oem battery box that has a lid. Both are screwed down with phillips heads. When I get home I'll send pics.

Thanks.
I search further and found some parts and ideas from the Parts diagrams.

just an additional bit of info...Shorai batteries are boxed with various sized foam pads contained within. The instructions note the pads are intended to be used as "spacers" ...cut/trimmed as needed to secure the (now undersized) Shorai battery within the battery boxes originally intended for the larger, heavier OEM battery.

A Shorai safely lives in my 800SS Ducati a few years now...no issues, spaced and installed securely and safely. The weight savings (up high under tank on the Ducati) is quite obvious and desirable.
